hehehe of course!! Any chance i get! same as with the 88" full tilt i've got
there is some Amazing driving roads round here, teh gumley-laughton road is one e & friends used to do time trials/speed runs on (i held the record at 105mph in a 1.3 1992 escort! my friend bottled it in his scooby! we used to have a walkie talkie in the car, with another friend sat at the opposite end just saying 'clear clear clear' all the time to make it safe, and checked the field was empty of cows too!)
xXx

I can see what you did with your username now. Vivid.....understatement.
Please don't take this the wrong way, but chicks with Land Rovers = epic win.
Glad to see you using it with the hood down this time of year - I'm a firm believer in enjoying fresh air motoring all year round, all temps, all weather....just as long as its not chucking it down.
Make sure you keep enjoying your drives and chuckle to yourself when you see all the other convertibles with their roofs up. You know who is having the most fun.

hehehe none taken MM! ;D i should point out i have 5 Land Rovers atm (this one, 2 SWB series 3's, a SWB series 2a project & a 110CSW), and i work on them too (that one pictured is my Favourite, and i've changed the engine for a 2.5 petrol, and the gearbox multiple times! when i first took the roof off that one (known as Ary - Will get round to doing a build thread on her at some point ) afew years ago i had no roof for about 3 months, and drove her regardless! including getting caught in a thunderstorm - That was amazing!! trying to stay above 35mph on twisty country roads while marvelling at the lightening flashing above ;D xXx

I know it well. 105 is canning it some up there.Good moo've to check for cows! (see what i did there) I used to work and live in the Queens Head at Saddington and because i hardly ever used my car,i just used to randomly go for a blast around those roads for kicks... I remember hitting the hump back bridge on the Fleckney - Great Glen road at 80mph,not realising how sharp it was (i hadn't lived there long) And had all four wheels off the ground while the road bends to the right and i was airbourne going straight heading towrds the van parked at the side of the road....That was a brown trousers moment! ;D That was in my old '90 Celica

Slight thread hi-jack but Hardcore, did you do the spring-over-axle conversion and was it much of a ballache? I'm presuming you were running RR axles

Cool drive home Violet Vivid. I had this 2A back in '98 and it gave me more grins per miler than any other car I've ever owned, sadly the chassis was riddled with tinworm and it was broken for parts. This was my mate Tony's awesome 2.6ltr straight six engined workhorse.I think 45 was flat out but it could pull down a house if you wanted it to. ;D

I don't think weather has any bearing on the practicality of topless Landies - surely the angle of the screen would stop any rain from getting anywhere near the front seats?

I'm with SkinnyLew - Sub-zero and more snow = BEST time to enjoy open top cars ;D
RaoulDuke, I don't have the luxury of windscreen or bodywork on my 'topless' car so rain can affect play, but other than that, you just can't beat driving 'al fresco' in Winter ;D ;D ;D

I really like the old series landy's. Here's my series landy in the snow ;D Maybe one day I'll get round to finding a ragtop for it. When I first got it on the road, I didn't have a roof fitted, and used to do my 120 mile motorway commute at least once every fortnight through all weather summer and winter Now packing an injected v8, just needs a serious tune up to finish
