Trying to get a bit of mojo back after yesterday when we (my self included) all got a bit crocogator like Quite simply, EVERYONE had their favorite "Dream cars" as a kid! Everyone else i knew all wanted the usual, Porkas, Lambo's, Ferraris, Jags, BMW's, Maclarens etc etc! I was slightly odd and went though a few favs i drempt of owning when i grew up, these were: BX Estate I know this aint the estate we all know n love but i though it looked cool on google so here: Panda 4x4! <--- still want ;D Ghia X Granada Estate Silverado (although I'm a little confused as to what they're called, the one i remember was badged as a Silverado, I'm since led to believe they're Suburbans, idk, either way, it looked like THIS) I'd have made such a cool storm chaser! ;D Even wanted a mazda pickup for a while and one of these because my brother had one So what oddballs did u want as a kid u knew u couldnt tell u mates though fear of being picked on?

I recently found a copy of the 1983 Observers Book of Automobiles on my bookshelf, which I had when I was wee small. Flicking through it, I noticed that in my childish scrawl I'd written 'best car in the world!!!' above one of these... I also had a real thing for the Renault 18, simply because my dad's mate had one, and he had a beard and thus was worth looking up to.

Curiously, three of mine have already been named - Granada estate, Chevette (brown, of course) and the W123 estate. Other than that: I have always wanted a Sierra XR4i. I also thought... ...that Lovejoy's Morris Minor convertible was incredibly cool. Looking at it now, I stand by my opinion.

1989 Peugeot 205. You know, the one that was parked in a ditch on the campsite at RRG'17... the glass is always full. but the ratio of air to water may vary.

I was also slightly obsessed with the AC 3000ME, which was less embarrassing... ...and with yellow Morris Marinas, which was slightly more so. (Only yellow ones, mind.)

Lets clear up car terms: "Understeer" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car. "Oversteer" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car. "Horsepower" is how fast you hit the fence. "Torque" is how far you take the fence with you.

One of the embarrassing ones, the Matra Rancho. I just wish they still actually existed and had a big V8 and 4x4 to go with the looks;

Always wanted an Avenger Tiger, bought mine when I couldn't afford it in 1995, will probably never sell it. Had to look out the picture with AC3000 just to tickle dbizzle. Russell

This car is currently owned by the editor and webmaster of the DAF owners club and is christened the blue bullet. As for the green was it by any chance the green of mine in my avatar if so that colour is very hard to find today

Also a Skoda Rapid. I later got one as my first car. Great minds eh BB? Except I'm shitting bricks about insuring it. Well I''m still a schoolboy and I love everything on this forum, some people think I bonkers, others think I'm mad but like, I'm just living my life, there's nothing crazy bout me... Sorry.

It was a 75 N reg and was absolutely immaculate,sold in around 1986 still with very low miles on.I often wonder if it survives but i can't remember the reg no,i'll ask my old man next time we speak if he has any photos of it. I think it must have been one of the last before Volvo took over.
