for my Chaser i'm searching for a 2,5" coilover system, just like the stuff Rallydesign sells for Ford Escort struts, but that's 2". I used those on my Corolla and they work perfect, but the Chaser uses thicker struts and i NEED more lower on that car! There's a company in the US selling those type of kits for the type of strut i use, but they are made out of alluminium, hard to weld and (imho..) WAY overpriced. Help me to fix my nose up stance!

I thought most conversion kits are 2.5". Your right to avoid the aluminium ones, I've seen these for sale for Hondas and they're not welded to the tube, but have grub screws or something (can't remember). Would be interesting if they slipped if you had removed the original cup.

2.25" are the most common aren't they? I'm struggling to find 2.5" springs that aren't double the price of 2.25.
I have the alloy collars and the grub screws are only to stop them rattling/spinning,they sit on steel collars so they can't go anywhere (well mine do at least)

HK Phooey is right - 2.25" is the most common size of coliover by a long way. The 1.9" and 2.5" are less commonly used and therefore more expensive generally.

hmm, I need to measure my struts again then! ;D i'm going to pick up a spare set of struts on tuesday, so then i'll measure it again and order the correct sleeves! btw.. I don't want the ones with the little screw in, because I found out that they don't give me the lowness what I want + they are a little bit on the illegal side for our MOT: ;D

You probably do need 2.5 springs,i'm just saying 2.25 are a more common application. Rally design have 60mm srings for sale too if they're any better?
