i like the banhams, especially the banham spyder that was in PPC where they drove it to some skoda meet in czech republic it was in primer and looked awesome, and is a damn site better than the red skoda compared to it.
once again i'm sticking my neck out and say the 1series bmw is quite nice, the only thing that lets it down is choice of engines so far, i imagine some of the turbo petrol variants they are going to offer will be sexual, and when compared to other cars in its class to me it drives quite nice.
In fact i like everythings thats been mentioned so far, apart from the red skoda haha.

I really don't like the red Skoda. The green one is ok, but I think that the white one is great! :-)
As for the Banham Spyders, they look fine, unlike the majority of kit car replicas. However, I wouldn't like to see a salvable car used as the donor.

It's not the looks of the Banham that bother me, it's that loads of saveable Skodas that could be great road/track cars for someone get gutted and scrapped to make a sad James Dean replica, with cars like that I just have awful images of some sad mid-life-crisis-stricken businessman trying to pull 16 year olds on the local high street by leaning out of the car wearing James Dean gear and saying "Hey, you like my Porsche laydeez?!" in his best old perv voice. Then again you get them doing that with real exotic cars too, it's just a shame that Skodas have to be subjected to that sort of rubbish.

all aggroYE GODS! I reckon that you'd have great difficulty shifting this for a penny, let alone £15. An allegro estate is hardly a beautiful or desirable thing at the best of times (hence why I wouldn't mind one), but crikey, a non-runner with biffed bodywork and suspension so fooked its on the floor (and not in a good R-R way) must be the least desirable car ever.

norm, you need your f*cking eyes testing. how can you call a 550 spyder (real or rep) minging? and why would you use a skoda to do it when you can base it around a beetle, which would be easier? well i must agree with tonycocacola that 550 rep or real is lurvly not being a skoda lover anything they do to change the body if fine by me but why build a kit out of anything that has soo much bad publicity is beyond me sorry but skodas are known world wide for being curse word sorry sorry sorry to all skoda lovers out there but it is a fact

No going into detail as to why I don't like the Banhams, but one of the main reasons is that the kit cars NEED to have a good floor pan, which means you get all the nice cars butchered. I've seen 130GLs (mega rare) being turned into Banhams. In fact, I've recently, along with the North-East section of the SOC saved a unique car from being Banham'd. This car was converted to a Rapid Sport for £1250 back in 1990 when it was new, it had a heavily tuned engine and racey suspension (don't know the real spec) and an 'interesting' paint job - there are no other Rapid Sports that originally looked like it and someone had got hold of it and was planning on cutting it up to make a Banham. Luckily, we've saved it, but the person has kept the engine and gearbox... Now, if you Skoda is really screwed I quite like the idea of the Bugrat. but they don't require a sound floor pan ... and they aren't trying to be something they are not.

I wouldn't normally get into this sort of thing as I've been guilty of driving some truly nasty creations in my time and as this thread has shown, one mans poison is anothers tipple...
But oh, you had to mention the Honda Element...
I like it, I really like it. ;D I even test drove one I got so excited. It was surprisingly good to drive, the interior was well thought out, and I loved the clam shell doors. The only thing I couldn't live with was the 'extreme' lifestyle tag which seem to be attached to it. Maybe in the UK it wouldn't be viewed as such.
At the end of the day it's still worth more than 2K, so ultimately I had to say no for fear of unsettling myself.

My nomination ....the Talbot Horrorzone. We had one to get us out of a hole and it was the most p1ss poorly made, annoyingly curse word, bad handling piece of toss that I ever had the misfortune of having the reg document to. Thing was, it was a mint, low-miler and it ended up being sold to a fella who *actually* spent the money on having it shipped to AUSTRALIA! I believe its the only one in the country... can't think why
