I found some more pictures, which show's a small block v8 of some kind in it ... Looks like a Rover V8 to me fitted wth a rare boxer SU manifold and dressed up with Chevy rocker covers. Couldn't you bolt a "correct" small block Ford lump in using South African bit or something?

The cost argument is difficult, only really relevant in the context of an Eleanor, in which case it may make sense, just, if you really want one. I don't like 'em or the post-GT350 Shelbys, but each to his own. I've no idea what prices are like now but my Mach 1 was 5k, sold it for 6.5. When I bought mine 8k was strong money for a good one, a yr later they were at 14k... No idea what it's like now though. I had a Sierra Xr4i when I got the Mussie and as stock it was easier to sling around than the stock Mustang, much lighter for one thing; although with a nasty tendency to lose the back end at the slightest provocation. Mustang: did the Shelby drop, export brace and Monte Carlo bar, changed the leafs for an extra leaf and mid-eye, had shorter stiffer front springs made, totally transformed it. Still heavier, but more satisfying to sling about. When I'm rich & famous I'll have another one

£8k for a replica Mustang is expensive, and more so when it's not even finished.
But in perspective the real thing is now very expensive. Before Gone in 60 Secs came out you could get a damn good Shelby for £20k. Now it seems that sort of money will get you a bit of an aged one or just a normal Mustang dressed up as a Shelby.
This is now quite common unfortunately with most muscle cars. Their prices have exploded over the last 10 years.
Oh and at the end of the day anyone who buys that Sierra is just plain mad and with a bit more money spent could get themselves a very nice REAL fastback Mustang.

I think they look excellent, think how easy its going to be to get mechanical part. I grant you its alot of money but check ebay in the future for 90% complete examples being sold for £750 odd.
Maybe theres a company in the states that converts Mustangs into U.K spec Sierras? Seems only fair.

Don't like stretched tyres, very low profile tyres & I think a car CAN be too low. Perhaps I'm odd.

I found this on ebay. For £7999 this guy will turn your Sierra into an Eleanor Mustang Gt Coupe Replica. Has anyone seen this before? It doesn't look too bad but it's a bit of an odd idea.quote] Don't be silly.

IMO Eleanor looks gash anyway it's like a Barry Boys dream Mustang, does nothing for me!
If you want a Mustang buy a one, as AK showed you can pick up a real one for 8 grand, why would you want a replica instead!
Plus to put the icing on the cake I've never like replicas based on other cars it just seems pointless, why do it.
Remember that Audi TT replica based on a Scirroco? Why? I really mean it, why? If you want a TT god know why, go and buy one don't waste your money making one?..........
And all those Ferrari replicas, thats just the height of sadness "Look at me I've got loads of money and a chest wig and I drive a 355............... Oh no wait its a bloody K-reg MR2" GHEY GHEY GHEY!!!!!!!!!!
And for me 8 grand would get a mint 2wd Saff Cosworth, SEXY TIMES!!!!!!!!!
*sorry for the over use of exclamation marks ;D

There are cool kit cars.
And TBH, If I came across one of these for £750 needing a bit of finishing then I'd be tempted for sure.
But realisticly you could well be looking at the thick end of £15K to build that to a decent spec. And you can buy a nice fastback Stang starting at £15K. Not a Shelby, not a decent Shelby Clone either probably. But then that Sierra will never even be a Mustang let alone a genuine Shelby LOL.
FWIW I don't like the Eleanor clone kits. Seen a couple done and they gan be as gashly fitted etc as your average Barry Boys saxo. Clones of individual cars annoy me, "tributes" can be OK and some times "recreations" of great one-offs from the past are OK in some contexts but in the general case I have to say

Yes I agree totally and most look like a Lotus 7. But replicas are rubbish IMO! I love the elanor car but it would have to be a proper mustang based copy for me as far as the money the kit costs , I would rather spend £6,000 on this and have a grand left over HELL YES

I'd much rather have this 350 clone. Okay so it's not a 350 but at lease it's a mustang and a v8 one for £11,990 www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/741142.htmThis isn't so much a copy as a tribute. The Mustang Bullitt Edition has an Exhaust tuned to replicate the sound of the original fast back, a 315bhp v8 and a limited slip diff. Sounds pretty good to me and has to be one of the best looking modern mustangs as it's not all puffed out like some of the Rouch ones. £28,000 though. www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/548797.htm

Yes I agree totally and most look like a Lotus 7. But replicas are rubbish IMO! There is a tendency for a lot of kit cars to look like Lotus 7s but that is probably due to Colin Chapman pretty much nailing the design of a cheap minimalist 2 seater sports car that can be built with relatively low tech methods

I've never seen the attraction in Eleanor, the front end styling is jarring and out of place. And it couldn't possibly look harder than the original GT front end. My own personal favourite is the Boss 302...
