Well looking into some arches advertised on ebay for the festa project, christmas presents during a recesion are great early. Question is if i drop these on, A i will not be able to fill the arches straight away, and am worried about cutting the shell as so solid. B, the fact that building the planned engine will not be happening till next year and a 957 cc festa looking this wide may be like a 6r4 metro kit on a 1l metro. Your thoughts please guys and gals This is the offending car. These are the offending arches, still need to work out how to fill them and how much body i may have to cut away. Anyone got any info on this festa or know it?

No ideas but they do look good. Go for them and just keep them until the wheels etc are ready.

Looks good as it is, i'd want the engine or perfomance to come with the looks though, plus wide wheels and weight will slow it down and it is the slowest engine. FWIW my 1.1 is real fun now with a few fix's and enhancements/services, but wouldn't want it to look any 'sportier', yet..

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

i personally cant drive something that looks quick but isnt, does me brain in, hence me having to resist the temptation to racer up the coupe. (well, for now anyway)

Volvo back as my main squeeze, more boost and some interior goodies on the way.

This is getting my brain ticking, it's already been done and having now looked at the owners build thread looks like i may have to cut up an original shell with no grot in. Stealth and power may be the way forward here me thinks.

more power in this day and age is irrelevant imo. i drive a car that should be an awesome sleeper, but is stock, and probably less powerful than new. so, like an anti-sleeper.
looks is more important than power sometimes. and when budget says so, its all cool. you cant do everything at once.
i vote WIN.

My car looks awesome but has all of 25bhp at the wheels on a good day! Its fine for a while ... just makes you want a bigger engine! And just think, the slower you drive it, the more people will see!

i share your feeling about cutting up a nice and solid shell! i did this to my corolla: it did hurt when i saw it first like this (6-7cm of arch cut away ;D) but when i made this pic: i knew i did the right thing! Shame i forgot to do the front wings before it went to paint, they need to be cut also

I think it depends on the car - Theres looking good, and looking fast. I had a 106 that looked fast, and also went fast, and now I have a lupo that is dog slow, but looks good (IMHO, ofcourse) that I'm proud of.
I would have felt like a cheat if my 106 was stripped out inside with cage, buckets, harnesses and 75bhp, but the Lupo has just had a major hit with the stick and some 8.5 inch wide wheels on. No loud exhaust or nonsense like that. On an actually fast car I love loud exhaust, but they are awful on slow cars.

Well, performance could be seen as a waste of time, given the nanny state of police cameras and speed limits we in live in. Yeah, it's nice to blast some twit in his saxo at the lights in the traffic grand prix, but it's not a necessity. I know my car is slow, I'm fine with that, I'll just settle for it being frigging cool.

Personaly i wouldnt bother with the arches, they are fast becoming the 'bubble arches of the fiesta world' if you know what i mean.
It will be much cooler on standard arches with some small tyres.
