hello all, well since tax price on my leon was going to get silly from next year onwards I thought I better stay well away from the 2001 tax cut off date thingy. this is my new daily, picked up nice and cheap as it needed servicing and bit rusty on the edjes so got me a little summer project pics make the body better than it is. this is it before messing horrid wheels on it + horrid wood steering wheel soooo. since getting it two weeks ago Iv done. 1. new steering wheel 2. service 3. cd player in 4. new door speakers 5. 99' spec alloys as I hate the original ones! came with good tires as well! 6. central locking kit as it was starting to annoy me without it! and Iv been constantly washing it and G3ing it also its been lowered and the spoiler was on when I got it, came with a hard top too (since painted the speaker grills) cut a bit more than needed never mind lol and the drivers side gutted last night though as my drivers side wing mirror fell off, totally rusted through just spent 70 quid on a pair of new ones as I think the passenger one is on the way out! wanting a sporty exhaust for it now but nothing to loud (untill the revs pick up ! cheers chris p.s wnet over a speed bump the other day and it bottomed out on the passenger side pushing up (flatening) the chassis rail in a section, does this matter? would that fail an mot? ect

Nice car! One came screaming past me earlier today with the top down in the gorgeous weather.... I was quite envious. Quality upgrades so far, shame about the wing mirror coming off though The flattened chassis rail wont fail the MOT so no worries there. Just so long as theres no corrosion or cracks/splits its all fine and dandy

They look awesome with wide arch kits too. cheers man, good to hear about the chassis rail! this weather is awesome just a shame the f1 is on otherwise id be out there now! Yeah, I'm supposed to be picking up a fish tank and sorting my rust today, stupid F1. Liking the thermal pit cam tho

well back onto this little beast! Will be taking her off the road for the winter and doing some work on her. 1. New clutch needed (getting real bad now!) 2. New rear brakes (hasnt got any lol) 3. New hood (getting tatty now) and wanted to do turbo but havent found a suitable 2nd hand kit yet so now thinking throttle bodies! ONLY problem is, just started looking at throttle bodies so has anyone got any tips/info/Run throughs/Step by step guides? Will be looking for all the parts needed to so anyone got anything? would also be tempted to put some nice J wheels on it too, you know the style! black split three spokes with a red rim (or five spokes) So bit of guidence needed if anyone can? will keep updating this post as I get underway! cheers Chris

Moto-lita steering wheel in an MX-5 is sooo right I'd opt for a turbocharger over a SC if I were you. Those engines take really well to turbocharging.

With a bocephus sticker on his 442, he'd light 'em up just for fun

Definitely the right thing - a guy at work has just brought an MX5 and I am telling him to buy the same kit!

I never really liked them, to messy they have 8 different faces on them! Way to much going on!!
Saying that though I did see a nice set that had been painted black on the spokes and red around the edge which hid the amount of different angles on them, might have a play as thats the style of wheel I would like on it (rather 3 or 5 spoke mind).

I love MX5s. I had a Eunos Roadster, V-Spec in dark green with tan leather. Totally provocative and yet forgiving handling. Not much power but similar lack of weight, grip and braking to match, but not like an MG. All beautifully balanced
I would have another at the drop of a hat. Mine received a new clutch and wheel refirb. I want one now pleaase! Drop the roof at every opportunity please

nothing doing at the moment today so thought Id put pics up of the mx5 as it is now, have put the hard top on ready for the winter (it came with the car) [ ITS ME!! MARIO!!!!! ;D ;D ;D And for the last 3 weeks Iv been getting this imp ready for the road to use in the winter whilst the mx is off the road. G/f not to happy ;D but its to save the mx, as you can see its not finished on the paint side of things hope to finish the yellow stripes tomorrow afternoon if its not to wet! have to finish the interior too as its not nice (one main reason why she doesnt like it lol) and have to redo the tappets but otherwise is ok. Question do I need to put a couple of clear coats on it? I havent got the money to spend on this one see so didnt really want to! chris
