Got a bit of French fodder here, ideal for someone looking for a hack, something to use on those grim days - or an ideal student starter.
It's a 1990 Renault Clio, 1.2 RN, manual, with T&T till June. Got 68,000 miles on the clock and the handbook, V5c, current MOT and tax disc are all present.
As far as I'm aware, it needs two things - one is a driver's side CV joint and the other is a rear-right tyre. Otherwise, everything is in good order on it. There is also a few blebs of rust on the rear wings but seemingly nothing major and a weekend's tidying would see it extremely presentable.
Hey, it's even got a sunroof that doesn't leak!
It's recently had a headgasket (with all new fittings), new thermostat, rad switch, plugs, coolant, oil, etc and the engine is a nice mill, fires up on the first spin and hasn't shown any issues whatsoever. The car's been used daily for the past 2-3 months without any troubles (for reference the CV knock has not gotten worse in that period either) and it's been completely reliable.
This car also benifits (oh yes) from single-point fuel injection, so fires right up even on the darkest and grimmest of mornings, settling quickly into a pleasant purr.
Interior seems very clean barring a tear to the driver's bolster but otherwise quite comfortable and oddly very spacious in the front.
Ridden in it a few times and sits on the motorway without issue and blats along, rarely requiring any fuel! I've only shunted it around on the drive a couple of times but everything seems to work OK with nothing negative jumping out at me! Box, clutch, brakes & steering all seem good.
Price for this fine automobile, Sir? Say, £250 to see it gone. Car's located just outside Milton Keynes, Beds
Photos of the beast (excuse the grime, not cleaned for a while):
And the grotty bits:
(That's the dead tyre - has a slow leak that over a few days deflates it)
Other than that, very presentable!
I find it an oddly engaging little thing, very pleasant to potter about in!
Drop me a line here if you're interested! Hey, it's even been to the Ace Cafe
