Hey Folks! Another week, another weekly chat, your place for stuff that may not warrant a full thread, or stuff that is just going on right now that you want to share. Okay this is it, this is the week I flip the 'Desktop' mode for mobile to be the default (and only) mobile view, which will unify all the features and set up on the forum, so we can then move forward with some more enhancements over the coming year. I expect some issues (of course), however we've been able to turn around problems pretty quickly with the newer layout, shame the new editor and image upload didn't pan out, but such is life. On the car front I've got a backlog of threads I need to create, not least of which is one for one of my favourite shows of the year, Mooneyes All Odds Nationals. I also have an old Hot Rod magazine year book to scan some bits of, from 1964, so will share that too. Hopefully we'll have some photos and reports from HARDCORE and co who are out for Drag Week in the states. Fingers crossed for a great week all round, what are your plans? I plan to fix the exhaust/snapped manifold on my car then do some fresh air walks to hopefully help push the very raised carbon monoxide levels in my blood back down. Being very lazy at fixing cars isn't good sometimes, combined with quitting smoking so I haven't been driving round with the windows constantly open.
Trackrod rally next weekend too so will hopefully get some photos from that.

And I won't sit down. And I won't shut up. And most of all I will not grow up.

My chum David who imported the Rover 600 to the USA is over here again for a Rover event. The guy is a nutter. I will thus likely be attending a Rover event this coming weekend so as to catch up with him. Otherwise there is lots of progress. Dez is working on the Wolseley although there is no paperwork back from DVLA yet. The Morris is having a professional attend to a couple of jobs I was unable to get to. A whole load of 460 go-fast* goodies have arrived for the '75 LTD, I am enjoying the loan of an '05 Honda Jazz.... Celebrating a mate who won one of the Retroshite giveaways and now has to work out how to go pick it up... Collecting bits for the Wolseley, sorting bits for the Humber which should be about done in the body shop by the end of this month, apparently. Sold a few bits and bobs to refill coffers which are rapidly depleating. Still enjoying Fiestaing - I was away for work and I am generally using the Fiesta for that, which is silly when I had bought that bloody great Mercury for that purpose. meh. I have some plans for the Fiesta but I just need some time to get on with them... I've also found rot in the roof of the garage due to all this damn rain this year, so that also needs to be attended to at some point.

Technically was last week but went on a classic after work parts collecting trip for the first time in a long time A better bumper for the 207 that I'm trying to turn into a respectable car and a tyre for the MGB so I can size up lips for the wheels I'm building for it, also the seller of the tyre had a rather nice 80s 911 that it had come off Need to find some time to write up about my visit to Autoworld and the Bonhams sale in Brussels earlier this year

I've been working through the Maestro MoT fail list and have one job left now which is fitting the new pads and discs, then it can go for the retest. Apart from totally randomly flattening its battery, it's cooperated remarkably well for a car that knows its about to go up for sale. They weren't wrong about the rear brake hose being too long either, I have to wonder what it was from since it's a slightly unusual fitting on the ends and all the Maestro derivatives have the same wheel base so it's not like it's from a Maestro van or estate. I'm pretty keen to get cracking on the Princess, I just have to be good and stay focused on the Maestro before I do.

I've been laid low with a bug of some sort this week, so the most exciting thing I've done is peel off a tatty old sticker and replaced it with a new one.

Ended up driving the 996 down to Cornwall as the daily has a lump out the sidewall of one of the tyres and I didn't fancy risking that on the motorway. God this car is great for cross country travel, comfortable, quick and easy to drive. It's almost like this is the perfect use for a GT car .....

Going on holiday in the Range Rover tomorrow, spent the day transforming it from a builders truck into something resembling a comfy car, hoovering, scrubing, removing roof racks, even gave it a service and added some missing clips to rattling bits of trim.
