I usually like the big old 70's/80's box shape best but just came across these pics and thought this might be the most apt current thread to add them to. They kinda remind me of the old C3 Corvette Sportwagon in that they really, really shouldn't work but somehow I'm extremely drawn to them. I'll take the one without the wing. Must dig pics of my old WRX Wagon and add them here when I get chance also. There's something strangely attractive about these! I would have one

I've just "finished" moving house. The old V90 has been a life saver. There aren't many manual box V90's left out there.

I'm in turmoil at the moment as I want a spirited estate for my daily commute
Just can't decide which one!
On my radar is an Audi A4 or S4, deep down I'd love a 90's Merc with the OM606 tweaks but they're big money now
edited to add the Volvo 850R too
I'm actually doing my own head in searching

Alternatives could be……?? Though not at all the same thing, this, though 2 seater, is a cool alternative too. Well, at least in my opinion, and I love a long roof.

Van's are an option agreed but our UK choice is pretty limited and mostly offer little street cred. I can't in all seriousness consider any PSA vehicle and only a senior Tranny would fit the bill. Then there is the seating limitations for the family guy. Vans are out there but not so straight forward.

Regarding these Astros, and GMC Safari variants, they are 4.3 V6 mostly auto, and various versions are out there. Some really cool, and a 4x4 version. forum.retro-rides.org/thread/225431/2023-mini-vans-real-resurgence

jag estate is always good, just a shame we had to wait until the XF for a production version. Hey there was the X Type! 😅 a bit marmite perhaps but seen some tempting examples lately

Indeed there was, don't think ive ever had a go in one to prove/disprove to myself the 'not a proper jag' reputation. If they never sold mondeo 4 with 4wd then thats a USP for starters
