Hi all I need a exhaust centre box and tailpie for a Ford Maverick V6 - sold in the US as a ford Escape - they are dead cheap from Rock Auto but very dear here. Shipping from Rock Auto is understandably expensive. I'm wondering if I could combine it with ebay global shipping which seems v cheap?
Any ideas? I did think about doing a Buy it now via a US eBay account and sending from Rock auto to the eBay warehouse but not sure how it would work?

I'm not sure quite what you mean. If rock auto is selling through the global shipping program then you just buy from them and its all sorted for you (it is expensive tho obviously)
If they arnt offering the global shipping scheme then you cant get it via that (unless you could persuade them to offer it)
There may be third party global shipping schemes you can try, I'm not sure!

If you knew someone in the US who would be willing to buy it from Rock Auto then list it on eBay for you to buy and use the GSS then it might work?
Would depend on the postage costs from Rock Auto to them + the cost to ship to the eBay US GSS site + the eBay seller/buyer fees, working out less than just shipping from Rock Auto directly to the UK I suppose

Not answering the whole question, but commenting on the Global shipping thing….
I bought a new tonneau cover for the S10 on eBay and via GSS.
Highly recommend.

Was thinking about creating my own eBay.com listing offering global shipping then hitting buy it now on it from another account, whilst ordering from rock auto to be delivered to eBays global shipping address. Kind of like drop shipping.
Does that make sense, there's none listed at present on eBay with global shipping.

Ahh, yeh i guess that would work as long as they don't smell a rat at Rock Autos but i cant see why they would care. I have successfully manipulated the system a few times aa a seller selling a small item and then sending a big box with something completely different or multiples of the same item in it. They didn't twig so you may get away with that too..

I think you'd have to have a US eBay account to do that, but give it a shot. Why not? Let us know if it works. eBay Global Shipping is like the cheapest international service I have found.

I've always found Rockauto's shipping to the UK to be quick, efficient and reasonably priced.
I mean, three days from Arizona to Yorkshire on the cheapest option . . . same thing from Jeep UK to dealer was over a week!

Normally I wouldn't think twice but shipping on the 2 exhaust bits with the vat and duty comes in at over £200, when the pipes are about £30 each that hurts a bit... On Jeep parts that aren't rhd only they are pretty much unbeatable - had a new sump for an autobox a few weeks ago. 1/3 of the price of the only used one available here!

Without mentioning a certain word, exporting things to the US to here became harder recently. We were with one ruleset before, and now we are with another.
A beer place I know used to import loads from the US, as it was bundled with European stuff as 'safe' gear. We now get bundled with any third nation. Zimbabwe, Egypt, Pakistan, you name it. As a result if anything on a pallet with other gear is stuck, their gear got stuck as well.
The sellers of the beer got curse word off as it could be months before things were resolved. Buyers over here were curse word as the produce could go off.
It will be one reason why things are much pricier. A company is not going to make it free for having more faff and curse word to deal with.
eBay do seem to somehow have nailed the shipping. When RockAuto ship the part, it will say that it's going to an eBay GSS centre. That's what happened when I shipped my clock out to Italy. I sent it to the GSS warehouse in the Midlands.
