Hi all,
MOT on my truck indicated corrosion on the rear coil springs...now I'm assuming they mean the rear leaf springs since isn't hasn't got coils, but I get their meaning.
If I want to get underneath and give it a proper clean down what's the best thing to apply as protection? I'm reading a lot about POR15, but also Hammerite, and some others...thoughts all?

POR15 is very picky about surface prep, I had some extra when I was painting a bit of the underside of my MG, toshed it on a panel and it peeled off in a sheet later on 😂
I can't suggest a good product but will be watching with interest as I've got to refurb the leafs on mine at some point

Clean and brush with used engine oil periodically or use something like lanogaurd as suggested. Painting them is a bit of a fruitless exercise as it’ll come off. Oiling or using a fluid film type preventive also has the added bonus of lubricating the pack keeping them from binding.

We used to clean them up with a wire brush, pack them with grease then wrap in Denso tape, you know the greasy tape used for protecting outdoor steel pipes etc. Seemed to work well, the only drawback being you won’t see a broken leaf but you could always check and re-wrap every year or two.

Thanks for the tips guys - I've heard nothing but good things about lanoguard so will probably start there.
Got a few other MOT issues to sort first though 🙄
