Hey Folks! Another week, another weekly chat, your place for stuff that may not warrant a full thread, or stuff that is just going on right now that you want to share. Well we're getting nearer and nearer the Gathering which means soon I will have time to think, and catch up on all the work I should have been doing for Retro Rides over the last six months. Weather looks like it might play ball, and really beyond that it is on us to deliver the event. So car wise I've done nothing for the last two weeks, forum wise I've not done much (may have found the bug that is causing some erratic behaviour in the new editor and has slowed down the transition to the new stuff. I can't wait until it is all I have to think about and we can move forward. Hopefully everyone's prep for Quick60 and Gathering is going well. Looks like it'll be drizzly at the moment which I can cope with after numerous soakings at events recently! Looking forward to it, I'll be in my modern(ish! - 2005) BMW but I know where to park it now after being evicted from the queue in it last year

Ran out of welding gas today, unusually just as I finished a repair with a time crunch attached to it. Filler (in a more suitably reduced quantity than fell off) and proper paint to follow when I've got more time and daylight to do it with. Yet another year when I miss the Gathering, yet another year where Boring Adult Stuff has got in the way so I'll just have a micro-gathering at home with my own cars and catch the updates on the forum when people post lovely pictures and videos of what I missed out on instead.

And I won't sit down. And I won't shut up. And most of all I will not grow up.

I painted this on Monday, after running out of paint on Saturday trying to get it done over the weekend. 10pm Wednesday and I’ve just come in from bleeding the brakes. I’ve half a days tidying bits up, but the only major job now is stop the rad leaking, then refit the body. Looks like I might just pull this off!

Bits of this and that on the Morris Minor, Rover P6 and Daimler... Not a lot but keeping ticking bits off. The Mercury is working properly again (touch wood) so I will probably do the trip to Mallory in that. Did we do the "transmission dead / transmission fixed" story here? I forget. The Fiesta is with someone who understands electronic diagnostics as its idle went all odd, so I have a Honda Jazz courtesy car to play with...

What a great colour that yellow is on the Jazz, proper shade of Punch-In-The-Face that more little cars should be in.

Looking forward to the gathering although I'll be in public parking with the Almera 😅 Continuing to slowly get the Crossfire and/or Kawasaki towards something road usable Been trying to wade through all the fake ads on FB marketplace recently, turned up this gem this morning www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/546280214272737/A Ferrari Mondial for sub 10k, and it's the early model with a rip snorting 214bhp to make sure that any MR2 based kit can pass you with ease. The Mondial is pretty universally disliked but because of that, it could be a laugh to do something with one, slammed perhaps?...
