Rain is mostly stopping me from making car progress at the moment so changed tack back to focusing on my motorbike engine build, which saw me give my new (to me) parts washer a trial run What solution are you using, and is it any good? Looks like a box of Surf there? I note that the instructions for this say 'We do not recommend the use of solvent-based parts washer fluids'.

Haha the surf box is purely for parts storage purposes I've been using Screwfix no nonsense degreaser, neat. It works ok for a water based degreaser but it's not a patch on solvents I'd say. Been cleaning up some pistons with normal oil and carbon deposits and it does need a good bit of scrubbing to get the properly burnt on stuff off
