I recently dug this out of storage, affectionately know by those who've come across it (practically no one!) as the CSOAT - copyright and trademark pending It is of course a Car Seat On A Table... It's perfectly good mk2 golf rear bench saved from the tip a couple of years ago and, mated to an old coffee table, it makes a rather comfy sofa. Best part is, no alterations to the bench itself so if I ever want to return it to its intended use, that can be done What other car parts have been re-purposed, and into what?

I used an old valve cover and some ignition parts to make my dinner table lamp. I wanted to put the coil at the top to make it look like the whole ignition system was there, but couldn't get a coil open nice enough to use it.

A couple of things- first a table made from a flywheel and crankshaft from a Volvo 4-cylinder redblock engine, with the upper part of a lazy Susan repurposed as the top (hence the cutouts around the edge). Then a lamp made from a Volvo 4-cylinder red block camshaft, a volvo Amazon hubcap and a light fitting from a broken table lamp.

The lift mechanism for the blade on my Ransomes MG5 based bulldozer is the pillar jack for a SIMCA 1100. It's also now powered by the engine from the same SIMCA.

We are in Billingshurst high street so a little bit away from kingsfold. The coffee table is cool, Morgan wire wheels and centre caps with remote colour changing led strips around the inside of each wheel. John has other tables at his showroom (v8 engine block and the like) but we don’t quite have room at the moment!

I will look into it. My sister in law (who works in the shop) husband is a postie so will see what it’ll cost.

Anyone know when next Hurtwood Polo Club evening retro meet is by any chance. Some great creations from recycled car parts / great initiative and thought

I'm not sure this is what the OP was thinking of... we just moved house, this has probably been keeping the gate shut longer than it kept the valves away from the pistons!

Needed a small gaming couch, all either too big, too uncomfy or to expensive. Bagged a basically new 2015 Rangerover Sport rear seat for £50 off FB marketplace, knocked a quick frame up an ended up with: Will be painting the wood and boxing it in to make storeage, followed by covering with carpet. Then if I can be bothered I could wire up the heat/cool gubbins. So comfy and smell great being real leather.
