Hey Folks! Another week, another weekly chat, your place for stuff that may not warrant a full thread, or stuff that is just going on right now that you want to share. Argh so crazy busy at the moment. Finally got the recent podcast from chas and ToolsnTrack uploaded. Club RR email went out, but still waiting on stickers. Had to change banks for RR during the course of that, and now it is all resolved. Hopeful this week will be super productive. Thanks for everyones patience. One thing I found time to do over the weekend was sorting through my tools to make a set of different tool boxes for different purposes: Then I found a whole other storage box full of tools when I'd put it all away

Peaking my interest this week is a follow up video from Sick Week involving the crew of the massive PV544 Wreck and their review of the car now they've got it home and tearing down what's left. Sick Week Volvo PV544

I'll soon be down to a 3 car fleet again, first time in about 5 years. Feels refreshing!

I've meant to share this page from instagram before but seeing a recent post reminded me http://instagr.am/p/CparYaTP_-S Really interesting project to create a V8 engine using the Honda K series as a base, and the way he's going about designing it to be as easy to package as possible in order for it to be a swap into as many different vehicles. Plus the fact he's developing it against a backdrop of dealing with early onset Parkinson's disease is pretty mind blowing to me

That sort of stuff really appeals to me. A lot more intelligent than the usual American answer of 'just LS swap it, bro'.

Spent a bunch of yesterday doing more work on the new site layout. I had paused it in anticipation for V6 of Proboards coming out, but it looks like they have canned that project, at least as far as moving forums from v5 to v6 goes. Which is a real shame. So I'm back moving forward with the new design stuff. Hopefully a unified mobile/desktop experience, a better overall thread layout and fully featured mobile (image uploads etc.). Some way to go yet, but I'll be getting some people testing as soon as I've got something I'm happy with. Today between house work and trying to find time to actually relax and read a book, I've been revisiting the Quick60 class structure as we've not been able to get it as correct as I'd like so far. Think I've got somewhere with it now, so off to program it up in our RREvents system so I can open entries for the event tomorrow

I picked this up Friday night. I have no room for it yet (hence the garage extension), but it was stupidly cheap, and will complement my large format printing works nicely... On the subject of extending the garage, I've made 2/3rds of the trusses and just need to cut gusset plates and assemble for the last 5...

There's some young guys with cameras taking photos of interesting cars going up or down Park Lane near the Dorchester. Makes me smile as it would have been the sort of thing I'd have done. I have to assume they're posting to Instagram or something. Would be interested to see what they spot (besides a rusty Herald) if anyone knows where the pics go.

That sort of stuff really appeals to me. A lot more intelligent than the usual American answer of 'just LS swap it, bro'. It's not really. Its interesting certainly, but it will always end up too complicated/expensive to be of any use. The machinist in me hates LSx engines, as fixing the American in them is bloody hard work, but the American in them is exactly why they're popular. Cheap, badly made huge engines that make lazy horsepower but are fairly hard to blow up because the tolerances can be measured with a ruler will always be more popular than a "better" engine that costs more.

if anyone knows where the pics go. I found a car I was looking for more info about on here : www.autogespot.com/ ... which seems to be pretty active and you can filter by country.
