I got all excited thinking there would be V16 Merlin 😀 V12, surely? I remember standing next to the PPC meteor-engined SD1 at Goodwood when they started it up without any silencers, just the manifolds... |

Kirby (Just Jane I think) obviously 4 of the things going off. Can’t image what a whole squadron would have sounded like 😀 |

My sister flew in the back of one of the two-seater Spitfires to scatter our dad's ashes over where he was born... ...I bottled it, to my shame |
