Thunderbird is just a different frock on the Fox chassis so all the Mustang bits are pretty much a straight bolt on. Not that it matters, really, but 1988 was the last fox-body Thunderbird. 89-97 cars were on the MN12 platform, shared with the Lincoln Mark VIII and the Cougar. Significantly it got IRS, but no longer shared parts with the Mustang. /anorak

If that could be purchased for around the £2k- £1,800 mark, another £500 on a T5 and you have a very nice base to do all sorts of things in. P.. It is a proper munter though isn't it I quite like it but then I am a bit odd.... An easy 300hp if that is what you fancy. P.

In that case this will be like the Cobra Mustang with the IRS - probably worth more than he wants in parts! P.

Think I will stick to Chevys then. Everything fits everything from 1955 onwards! -Well nearly.... I am ever so slightly tempted to spend grizz money on making this is a worthwhile addition to his fleet..... P.

I would like a New Shape mini - Mk1 Supercharged - definite future classic potential There's one on Autotrader for 1500 quid ... There's a 'normal' Cooper for sale a couple of towns over for 850€. I have no need for any more vehicles but just for inquisitiveness's sake I ran an insurance quote for my hypothetical 18 year old son who's actually just coming up to 12. 100€ per month didn't seem mad. And all of a sudden I'm looking at decent Minis that I can hold on to for six years. No. No! Maybe.

Agreed it is pretty uninteresting in that guise. I love when Paul Y spends my cash. As for you trikkisixx if anyone knows that it is “just a step to the left” as sung in Rocky Horror Picture Show and you are in a different world. This thing needs a radical paint or graphics job to draw the eye from its sheer shape and bulk. A few more tweaks, wheels spaced out, maybe a touch lower, and you are on your way. The actual ad’s wording had me smiling…….. ‘Nuff sed. Hi everyone, selling my Ford Thunderbird, very rare in the UK! Owned it once before and got it back in a trade but reality is, I need to further downsize..... I've been told it came from Japan. It has a rear lower spoiler which has been removed but comes with the car.
It looks like it has a galvanised body, little scrape down the side looks like galvanised under the paint. Can't see any rust on it either but come and look for yourself!
Smoothest yank V8 I've ever had. Spins wheels, lots of power. Electric windows, radio, a/c, leather interior but driver seat is bonded leather and the leather has come away from its backing, needs a little work.
Open to offers at any time. Ebay keeps taking the make offer option off once a bid has been made but I will accept an offer at any time. Please no silly offers, and don't ask what i want, if I knew that I would put it in as a buy it now.
Mot'ed so can be driven away. Cheap insurance unless you're 17. Please make sure you can insure it and that you have funds. Strictly sold as seen so come and have a look.
Ask any question. It has a little leak on power steering but has new parts to repair and needs 2 links fitting which are also with the car. It feels it needs tracking but it has just been driven about 200 miles no problem.
Sorry to see it go, but other shiny things need sorting...

We bought our son a 2006 Mini One 7 special edition, and my wife has a 2006 cooper s convertible (supercharged one) All coooer s’ have a getrag box, ones and coopers changed from midland to getrag boxes in 2005. The midland box like to munch through input shaft bearings. All seem to get through driveshafts, specifically the side that has a support bearing. They don’t like cheap wheel bearing hub assemblies and abs sensors as they make the dash light up like a Christmas tree.

MK2 son bought a T4 (no, me neither) to hang on the back of a 302 ford last year. It cost him just over £200, so we thought we'd got a bargain

The first manual in my 56 was an M22 purchased for the princely sum of £10, including the slip yoke… Anyway, back to what would I buy…. Something manual and rear wheel drive. But, as I have proved I have no idea what anything costs anymore outside of that who knows. Edited to add there is a Volvo estate in the classified for under a grand that would be a consideration. P.

Last month I picked up a very nice Rover 75 1.8 with 12 months MoT and no major issues for a third of your budget. Go the full 1500 and you could have the 2.5 V6 version. I'm also going to be picking up a 2006 MG ZT 190 next week for two thirds of your budget. Lots of money spent and MoT to October. Seriously, Rover 75s and MG ZTs are absolute bargains right now.
