Rubbish title. Maybe thread will get some traction, like the “Wheels from other makes” thread that often surprises. We all make changes, some massive, some just tweaks. Post whatever you want........ BUT.......... PLEASE SHOW US BEFORE AND AFTER SHOTS. That way we all learn and get to see and share. I will start with a recent one. I wanted to black out the B-pillar as part of tinting the door glass to create a large expanse of black. So ordered a piece of Matt finish black car wrap vinyl @ 200mm x 500mm for £2.88 including postage from eBay, that is CHEAP. Rolled up for delivery, it did not look promising at all. Cutting the strip in half, then taping it up, I traced the profile by just rubbing it against the B-pillar and the took some scissors to trim it back (the offcuts are being used on Sallys Corsa rear door mini pillars. Once trimmed right back, a decent rub down to shape the vinyl on the curves. And finally all done, next was the passenger side, again done between meetings

I like this thread idea, some little changes can certainly make a big difference Not an aesthetic change but one that comes to mind that I've done recently is on my daily Yaris T Sport, after failing to fit a Pipercross panel filter that their site suggested would fit (it didn't) I instead removed this bit of the intake "snorkel" for want of a better term Removes with one bolt and pulls off the airbox as below No performance benefit but it goes from sounding a bit wheezy to having a quite nice intake "bwarp" particularly from the mid range and sounding pretty cool round to redline. Ok maybe it's a little boomier at motorway speeds, but if you're doing a lot of motorway miles, this isn't the car for you. I'll have to see if I can get a before/after video of the sound

Clear indicators and no number plate lights? Very close, there's still number plate lights, you just can't see them

I don't have any photos to hand but one of my favourites is a new set of number plates. My current daily came to me with it's original 12 year old dealer plates, complete with euro flags and fixings that were so corroded they had to be removed using molegrips rather than a screwdriver. Just under £20 later it had a fresh set (from a supplier who displays the required legal markings in a subtle manner) stuck on and looks so much cleaner as a result.
The other thing I always do is remove any dealer stickers or manky old tax disc holders from the windows.

+1 for new plates. To add to that, shaped plates to fit the recess on the bootlid/bumper are a good one. I had a Smart ForTwo (2008 2nd gen 451, so I'm not sure if it's really retro enough yet) and a Rover 75 shaped rear plate fits the recess just right 🙂 .

My daily is 31 years old and has dealer plates, and a vehicle watch sticker (picture not mine)...

Mind if I ask where you got them? How does this work then, do they have templates for various cars or do you have to supply them a shape? I have obscure car.

Halfords did it, I took the car paperwork in and asked for new plates with a rear shaped 75 plate, they looked at me funny because I had a Smart, I said that was what I wanted as I'd seen another Smart with the same on the Smart forums. They couldn't do it there and then as shaped plates aren't stocked so they were ordered from Halfords Towers and sent over to the branch, they fitted them when they received them. I only asked about 75 plates so I'm not sure what other shapes they have in their range. This was at least 6 years ago though. I hope that's of some help, I know there are various websites that do custom plates which may or may not be legal, Halfords plates definitely were legal though.

^ Cool, I’ve done a bit of rooting around, thanks. Mine looks like it’s pretty close to an upside down Jag X-Type. May have a Small change - Bigger effect coming on if I can find someone to make me an upside down Jag plate

I don't think I've seen any of that shape M3 with gingicators fitted before There's not many of us. It's a decision I umm'd and ahhh'd about for a while. Very early E46s had them, IIRC for around 1 year . The early S reg cars had them, as did the Ts. Around the V reg was when the first of the minor 'facelifts' came in, and they had clear lights then. E46 M3s from the pre-production models in 2000 never had them. But to me anyway, the ambers work incredibly well on some colours on an M3 .

If you can get hold of an old school plate machine, and the letters, in theory it could be done if you had the materials
