In the late '80s I had another guy's wife in his HC Viva.
Also, just to keep it relevant to the thread, the Viva had a sheepskin steering wheel cover.

Somewhere in my cellar I have a plastic fake stereo cover that would slot over your expensive stereo and look like an old 70s radio so nobody bothered breaking in to pinch it.
I'll try to find it later.

I recall a similar idea, I think it was for the Vauxhall Nova where the stereo was very high up and visible, to cover the stereo with a dummy pair of air vents.

I had the old AA badge of my grandfathers Jowett Javelin on my old Range Rover. PX'd it for Subaru Legacy for the few months I was remaining in the UK, removed the badge, put it somewhere safe, and never saw it again.

Four Cibie Oscars on the front of a Mk1 Escort, Prime target for thieves and poor reverse parkers. very expensive at the time but made night driving much safer than with the standard headlamps, A mate used to call them "Cybills" like the actress until one of us pointed out the second "I" wasn't an "L" This only came to light when a plane passed overhead one night and he saw it's light reflecting on the clouds, he said something along the lines of "that's a f'ing good pair of Cybills up there", we all cracked up... ...mind you, this was the guy who offered to bore out another mates mini to 1600 without even removing the block from the car!

Had a bit of a rummage in the garage. Helphos "spot lamp" , attaches to inside of the windscreen. Guage pod = race car! Door buffer , not sure of the make? Universal Fisher cbox casette holder. To marry up with Harvard supplied tunes... From the days when not everything had hazard warning lights. I could be persuaded to part with any of the above....

Those Karobes wiper spoilers are something I've been after, just not that version. There was I'm sure a larger version available in a wide variety of colours in the late 80s and early 90s, I'm after one in black or white for the BX, hopefully it will clip on the arm without interfering with the washer spray bar that clips onto the arm and it might alleviate the little bit of wiper lift I get occasionally. I could fit a modern equivalent except that it'll look out of place to my eye. Another accessory were the colourful wiper arm boots you could get. My dad's old Datsun had a yellow (to match the yellow car) pigtail antennae on the front wing, would have been late 80s for that one. Then there was vauxviva's Metro retrorides.proboards.com/thread/155211/1981-austin-mini-metro that had just about every conceivable period accessory it could have. Shame Photobucket did a number on the thread.

Oh, I just remembered another one! One of the neighbours when I was a kid had a Reliant Rialto and he had a Moonies in the back window that we've already seen in this thread. He also had a plastic hand sticking a middle finger up, that was on a spring, that was attached to a sucker that stuck to the window. I'm sure there was a whole range of equally tasteful plastic statements one could get to go alongside.

MiniDisc players, when they were a thing for 5 minutes... ...and before that, one of these kicking about in the passenger footwell: Guilty as charged! My K10 Micra had a 6 MD changer under the drivers seat, and the Granada has had a 1DIN 3+1 MD changer in the dash for ages

Oh. My. God. Possibly (probably?) the worst of the items discussed in this thread? I'd managed to banish them from my memory, hopefully I can banish them again before nightfall to avoid nightmares!!!

Ahh man!! now I'd love some 70s/80s stripes for my 1979 Capri. It has the ghia stripes at the moment but, I think its calling out for some bad ass 70s ones. Does this type of stripe have a name?? where its like 2 or 3 colours ?

MiniDisc players, when they were a thing for 5 minutes... Still have a MiniDisc player, it was first installed in our old 1990 Mini Cooper and now resides in our 2004 Grand Scenic.
