Ok, so these will either float your boat or not, but there can't be many of these in the UK as they had a very American look about them. They *could* also be one of the most reliable 20 year old motors out there, which is worth a second glance in my book. So it seems the UK has a 2.0 145bhp manual or auto, or a 3litre v6 (woohoo!) but has an auto gearbox only (boohoo) that is notoriously dodgy. The fact they can be picked up for less than £2k is all good in my book. I like the NSX rear end look of these, and owned a hatchback version of this with the same front end which I still like (I did mention a Type R a while ago but they're too expensive to have sitting out on the road). Has anyone owned/driven one, and can comment?

I'd totally forgotten they existed in coupe form. I've driven a saloon Type R of this era and they're a fairly lively old thing, bit of a wolf in sheep's clothing. You're right about the rear end looking very NSX-ish!

Really like these, never been in one though.
The bit about the larger engine only coming with an auto is a common thought for me. So many cars I would consider if they were available in a manual.
I guess the manufacturer's must do there marketing homework, and to be fair I don't buy new cars anyway, but it seems as if it's interesting and a V6 or V8 it'll be an auto...
Edit to add: maybe a good idea for a thread? "Interesting V6 or V8 manuals..."

Totally agree though, V6 in manual and I would be posting what I'd bought in the Readeres Rides section ;-> Autos really are the kiss of death for me. At this age they will sap the power, in new versions they're so complicated you can forget about it if there's a problem :-<

AFAIK *'most' modern fluid drive autos *would have lock-up in top and may be a true overdrive, for a fully 'floaty' cruise... Sloshhy on the way up but not when you get there?? OVIMOR

Certainly the 4cyl autos of this generation are rapidly expiring due to over ambitious long service intervals & also now being scrapped prematurely due to Airbags. V6 manual available for the US but importers are more cautious.
They certainly look suave & shared less with their sedan siblings than ever before, combined with the V6 & bigger back seat they really killed the Prelude already facing competition from the more practical Integra.

I think you are right, it floats your boat or not as much. I don't mind the rear of the car and like the front of the car. But together....I am not so sure.

I agree, not a bad buy. SPECSBut if it was my buck I'd favour the Integra, (but dearer!) SPECS

Yeah, get the dc2 ^^^ if you can.
I’ve been daily driving one since 2007. Super reliable and has loads of carry space if you take the rear seats down. So very practical, if you need to justify it to anyone.
I do like those accord coupes though. Something special about them

Just looking at this thread, Honda used to produce a lot of coupes in the 90s - early 2000s:
1. Civic coupe 2. Integra coupe (that one above is lovely) 3. Prelude coupe 4. Accord coupe 5. Soarer coupe 6. NSX (still a coupe!)
And there's probably a few more. And I like the look of all of them! But what coupes are they making now? Any at all?!

Unless there is a Honda Soarer I've not heard about. It's still a lot of coupes mind.

Very grippy, Evo magazine described it as the greatest front-wheel-drive performance ever car ever. Watch how it handles some of its peers;

Also don't forget the CRX Del-Sol (and earlier CRX) Honda had a lot of coupes then because they were in fashion at the time which isn't the case anymore unfortunately, they did have the CR-Z until a few years ago but I'm not sure they ever sold that many The Accord Coupe looks quite a sleek design, reckon they could look nice with a drop and wheels (as per most things really). I think rust is probably the main thing to watch out for on most Hondas of that age

Newer too... we were recently looking at mk3 crv's as a replacement daily for swmbo. Gave up in the end as all the ones we looked at were scabby as hell underneath , despite being immaculate up top. Ended up with an X3.. not my cup of tea but at least it shouldnt disintegrate in front of our eyes quite as quicky!

^ I'd be more keen on an imported from Japan Honda than one that had been chilling out over here for best part of 20 years.
