Next before I put the box section on the bottom to support the floor I thought I better do a few repairs while I has easy access. Main areas are o/s rear what was boot floor and where the petrol tank sat in are the main bits.
I'm still going to fit my tank there but instead of dropping it in the hole which won't be accessible anymore, so I'm going to mount the tank from underneath instead.
Fitting bars in ready for the new floor and added strength. Also notice I have strengthened up the chassis above the rear spring hangers to the framework. Not as though it's going to carry a lot of weight it's mainly for rigidity. End of the pickup welded to top of tbe valence
So I thought I would start with the curse word rear valence as this is one of the worst areas to do. I opted to repair what I got instead of sourcing a new one or even a fibreglass one. As per usual the rust gets cut right out.
Some proper skills on show here. I've seen the black essex powered pick up up close and it's gorgeous so I am really looking forward to seeing this one finished too. Bookmarked.
