I have acquired a rather nice Rev Counter for my car, I now need to make it fit my vehicle its too small for the hole in my dash, the font is wrong, the rev limit on my original tach is now wrong too, SO, the plan is to dismantle the two tachs then fit the new tach to the old can and refit the old gauge face to the new tach, here lies my problem, I now need to get the face of the old tach refaced to suit the new tach, from 7k to 9k and with the correct sweep and font, Is there anybody out there who offers this service and who is good as it ??

Ian, Although he was stepping back a little more the last time I saw him, John is the man to speak to, and if he cannot help, he will know someone who can. John Marks - Vintage RestorationsIf he is able to help, make sure you visit his workshop, it's quite a sight to behold. Knowing that John was semi-retiring, I did speak to someone midlands-based doing similar work at the restoration show earlier this year but cannot remember their name, I do have a business card for them at home somewhere so will try and dig it out later on.

Spoke to speedy Cables, yes, they can reface, but don't want to do it unless its a full referb then they can't guarantee the font will be the same as the rest of my instruments ?

Do you have a picture of the old tach and the new one so we can see the two typefaces/fonts?
I work with text in my job as a graphic designer so might be able to help (I redo clocks at home for fun - this can't be that different)

v8ian Would love to hear from you - PM me if you want to go private. Perhaps you can email yourself pictures if it won't sync them to your computer?
