My parents have recently moved to France (lucky ducks). As well as opening the amazing world of Leboncoin up to me, it has also given us a good place to go on holiday. So we visited in May and read about the amazing town of Oradour Sur Glane.
The basic history is that in WW2 the SS carried out a massacre in the town. The town was then left as it was as a standing memorial. It is an absolutely fascinating place, with an incredible atmosphere. Even though it was fairly busy the day we visited it was almost silent. Wikipedia entry about it is HERE
As the town was fairly prosperous, when it was left there was a fair amount of cars....so some pictures.
