Very nicely done, end result looks spot on.
Like your approach on the other side, my intention is to use a smallest overlap for my rear arch replacement. However having seen your latest effort I'm now in two minds... 😁

I have butt welded the joint. I over lapped the panels when I did the other side and it bugs me so I might have to re do that down the line I have to admit that I was a little disappointed when you overlapped the panels before. Much nicer this side, fits in better with the rest of your top quality repairs.

I will get back round to that arch though and re do it at some point it won't take much I'll just run air hacksaw round the arch to remove the over lap and weld it up. It makes a neater job with the over lap as it doesn't require as much welding which cause a lot of panel distortion and ends up requiring more filler but it leaves an inevitable place to rust from so will get sorted

Progress at last! Back panel done hurrah. Not had much time free lately but been chipping away hour hear and hour there and managed to get the back finished off at last So let's get this gap filled After cleaning back the edges where the back panel sits a few plates and the odd pin hole needed addressing Then time to see if it fits!! Fits like a glove, so after the use of about 10 pairs of molegrips lots of hammer and dolly work a ratchet strap sprit level and 3 cups of tea each with 2 sugars stirred anti clockwise we have a back panel that fits Fits mint along the boot floor So a last few measurements and checks done I also fitted the boot and made sure my gaps were right. I made the most of being able to get to the inner quarters and gave them a a good clean back to bare metal and then pleanty coats of zinc primer time to weld it on So where the back panel meets the floor I ground back the black coating on the panel and gave it a heavy coat of weld through primer Luckily for you I didn't take any more pics ha ha ha as me battery went flat but hear it its done and primed. I always strip of the black coating that comes on panels its very poor and I've seen so many people not do it and the paint separate after it's been painted it really does make a better job when it's been primed and painted after paint just isn't as good with it left on and it chips badly

I stopped taking sugar in my tea, it ruins your power to weight ratio. I thought it would be really difficult to stop but it only took me a week to get used to it. 😀
