After a brew in the Daffeteria it was only 1:30 in the afternoon so I fired up the internet on my phone again to see what else I could do and saw that Autoworld in Brussels was only 1 hour 25 away and Belgium has the cheapest LPG so thought why not. A quick stop for some Fried Dutch food and I was back on the road. I had loved the DAF Museum and hoped that Autoworld wasn't a let down arrival looked like this.....

You came to the southern Netherlands to escape carnival? I avoided Eindhoven yesterday for exactly that reason!
Next time carry on past Eindhoven another hour to den Haag and the Louwman museum.

Great set of pics. I was baffled by that "Bugatti Type: Brown"... never heard of it before and it seemed a very unexotic name for a very exotic model! A quick Google reveals it's a Type 57 designed by James Brown Based on a Beetle floorpan apparently. Weird!

So the last few photos. I saved these because they were my two favorite cars of the day. The Lancia is possibly the most beautiful car and also the most odd looking car all at once and then there is the Ital design concept car that I was really happy to see. When I was a kid I had a book called Concept Cars and this thing was in there and I thought it was the most amazing looking thing ever. I wish that car makers had carried on with this kind of craziness instead of what we get in the present day. After the visit I set off home but not after stopping at a services to get some crazy fried Belgian food and a coffee. On the way out there was two young lads trying to hitch a ride to Liege. I was heading that way so slowed down were there was then an awkward moment were I toyed with the idea of picking them up and then tried to work out if they were murderers or not. In the end I stopped so they chucked there many bags in the bed and jumped in. The S10 is really comfortable with 3 people because of the side facing seats. It turned out these guys were from Poland and had a bad lot of luck and were stuck in Brussels and were actually trying to get to Cologne and from there to Spain. I took them all the way to Cologne and had some great company. They said they had commented about how cool it would be if the guy in the cool loud pickup truck stopped and then I did! Just goes to show that we should be a bit more trusting of our fellow human beings. I don't think that there are all too many murderers out there. I think they are definitely outweighed by normal folk. I am so happy that I can freely travel from country to country without any great hassle. Trips like this always make me wonder if I would do the same thing if I had to have passport control and queuing at each border. Probably not. Thanks for reading.

I am glad you posted because I have been trying to find your FD thread for the last few weeks and never succeed!

I am glad you posted because I have been trying to find your FD thread for the last few weeks and never succeed! Hullo Here I am! My FD thread sorta died a death because the engine breaking (again) sorta coincided with the Great Photobucket Death Ripoff and I figured "what's the bleedin point"

Had my summer holiday in 2016 around there and persuaded my wife that it would be a nice place to spend half a day. As well as my wife (and 10 month old son), we also had my sister-in-law and her then almost 5 year old daughter, but everyone found something that they liked. I could have spent a few days there! There was a special exhibition of Police Porsches on at the time, plus you kept on finding more and more rooms with cool stuff in it!

My FD thread sorta died a death because the engine breaking (again) sorta coincided with the Great Photobucket Death Ripoff and I figured "what's the bleedin point" If you have Google Chrome there is a plug-in available allowing you to view Photobucket pics. On a few threads, mainly older how to guides it's been very handy for me . Basically, your thread is alive, just not as you know it. It's a real shame your engine died. Great pics BTW @ ZXRob! That looks like quite a place to visit! Did you used to own a 306 GTi-6 at all?
