Do these count?
Getting into Gas Monkey Garage, Sue the upholsterer, meeting them all and spending time in the shop.
Elvis's Harley mechanic taking me for a ride in his ex salt flats car.
Visiting George Poteets car farm, getting a signed Blowfish cap.
Some other bits n pieces.

built this more or less from scratch and on a pretty low budget. farmed none of it out and did the whole thing for £2k in parts. drove it as a daily driver for the best part of a year, including through the winter with no wipers, heating or side/rear glass. went cross country a couple of times including to pendine. blew it up, replaced the engine in a day (including dragging the replacement out of an old van in a field) with the help of a few mates to get to players. crashed it bigtime. got given lots of money to fix it as it was the other drivers fault. itll be back soon.

I died briefly on the operating table, during that brief moment I found myself in a scrap yard full of 1930s and other interesting old cars, there were bright white palm trees and some other stuff. that was pretty cool. luckily I had my camera with me so I took loads of pictures. then I woke up, my memory card was full when I checked, thank god.
I saw des lynam go round a round about in Worthing in 1997

Went to an allegro national rally at silverstone (odd to start with) on the inside of copse corner (strange day, but cool) then drove around silverstone in a noisy Maxi. Went to donnington park once to watch historics and truck racing and spent about 20 minuites talking to Shane Lynch from Boyzone about his black and chrome big wheeled pickup without having a clue who he was. I think that counts. I'm sure ill think of something else.

I think I know your 100E from a long time ago - was it parked in Badshot Lea for a while? It was yes - Just after I had it.
To be brutally honest, it was bodged to fook by the son of D C Cobb in Ash Vale. You couldn't make this bit up... He narrowed the axle to allow for 15x15" Centre Lines and then realised he couldn't afford them so bought 10" wide and made some 5" alloy wheel spacers each side!
I remember that car. Was parked in their yard for ages.

Had Derek Bell tell me my Healey 100 was considerably faster than he remembered his 100 was.

I work in the car industry (but not for a car manufacturer) so get to experience a few interesting things.
I've been round quite a few car production lines including Honda, Jaguar, Aston, Caterham, Morgan etc in the course of my work.
I've seen, been in and on occasion driven, prototype cars before they are launched or seen by press.
A few highlights for me include the Aston Martin One-77, Bentley Flying Spur, and Radical RX-C (which I stalled).

I scratch built a Model A Roadster, and every part I used was small enough that I could carry it into the garage. I raced this car in the pouring rain at the Belgian track of Zolder, on 8.5 wide slicks without putting it into the wall. And I'm still playing with a Spaceframe Fiat 500, that I built for a buddy some 25/30 years ago.

I've done a couple of laps of Silverstone in Niki Lauder's M1 Procar, riding shotgun. It was freakin' awesome!

Had Damon Hill & Susan George, Tiff Nadal & Murray Walker in my Javelin on separate occasions at Goodwood Revival where the car is employed on period taxi duties each year - ho and come to think of it - Geri Halliwells pink suitcase & Christian Horners bag whilst the owners travelled ahead in my mates vintage Jowett
Stretching it a bit but I was also project manager for the dredging & refurbishment of the lakes for BAR Honda F1 Headquarters at Brackley (Now Mercedes F1) & the lakes & waterscape at the McLaren F1 Headquarters at Woking
I also project managed the craning in of 2 life size bronze hippopotamus statues into Jackie Stewarts lake (Not at all easy when you have to site a 100 ton mobile crane on a nine hole golf course)

I saw the Rover 820's 2 litre 16v motor a full 2 years before it was in production whilst on a tour of the old British Internal Combustion Engine Research Institute in Slough. We were sworn to secrecy! And I "flew" Concorde 2 years before Brian Trubshaw's maiden flight. At the age of 12 I flew British Airways' (BOAC, as it was then) Concorde flight simulator, thanks to a school tour organised by my mum who worked there at the flight training facility!

Fitted a BorgWarner T5 gearbox to a Daimler hemi V8 using a Daimler auto bellhousing, a bespoke adapter plate, a home made engine plate, a Austin Healey starter, a Rover SD1 friction plate and a Chrysler propshaft that got shortened from 1300mm to 350mm 😁 Don't think many others have done this 😉

My shop was around the corner from Rad Rides by Troy, we built custom aluminum structures and his metal workers often did side work for us. Bob Thrash lived next door to me for a couple years in the 90's.... Both of those are a bit US hot rod scene centric though.

I sat in the passenger seat of a rally spec RS2000 on a Sunday morning in Kenilworth as Roger Clarke drove it sideways around a demo rally stage effortlessly.
