Nice Retro project! I never really liked these Datsuns when they were around, but now that they are retro I Think the are cool. Strange how ones opinion change over time. A sleeper retro is never wrong, and this really has potential. The box shape, the chrome trim, few will expect it to be a racer. These braided fuel hoses that you connect to the injectors with jubilee clips, are they safe? Will the clip hold against the fuel pressure?

Those clips should be fine, normaly there are not even clamps on there. The clips I used are oem Nissan and used in the fuel system too.

Not far from running now! I will get painted and the suspension, axle and subframes wil get powder coated. The tank is fitted. All new stainless hose clamps. It is running!!! I fitted the crank seal, flywheel, spigot bush, and clutch 2 weeks ago but I coudn't get the gearbox in. I lined the clutch up with a bolt which I made thicker with tape since I didn't have a clutch line up tool. Than I realized the Patrol 160 has a input shaft which you can take out after removeing 6 bolts so I took that out and fitted it but It woudn't go into the spigot bush. So I took everything off and replaced the spigotbush from on the the engines I have laying around. Good thing Nissan used this bush in all engines from the 60's! Same with the clutch line up, almost every RWD Nissan uses the same spline count! So now the gearbox would go in and I could fit the starter. After that I changed the oil and cranked the engine for oil pressure which was pressent after only 10 seconds! It is not all progress because I bolted down the power steering pump and the tab broke off. I haven't updated for a while but it is on the road for a couple of weeks now. Quality build!. Do you have to to to the RDW (dutch DVLA) for this engine conversion for a test? The number of cylinders stay the same but the increase in power is substantial and more then 15% i guess.

petervdv: Yes, next year I wil go to the RDW. The car is off the road again for winter hibernation. Good time to do some upgrades! I took the gearbox off that still needs to be rebuild. I also ordered a speedometer gear from a Nissan Pathfinder D21 with V6 so that I can use the stock speedo cable. Only need to fit the Z32 gear on it for the correct reading. The D21 V6 2wd is the only car that has a suitable speedogear. The axle shafts are huge for the stock application. I'm using 200sx S14 calipers and needed discs to fit the 4 stud patern. So I searched and ordered Primera P11 rear discs. I came across a youtube video of a Nissan V8 powered 200SX. I have looked at these engines before but shipping from the US or Japan is pretty high so I never went ahead but a friend of mine shippes a E28 M5 from the US and offered me to take a engine for so little money I HAD to buy one! a v6 is nice but a v8 is nicer! Will You go to the dutch DVLA with the V6 first and another go with the V8 or will you do the v8 conversion first and then to the dutch DVLA? A shame you did a lot of work on the V6 conversion. Like your thorough approach. Keep up the good work! Peter
