Well. today I happened upon a car, and the question is should I try and save it? or does anyone else on here want to try!?
As per the thread I am attempting to start, I quite like tinkering with old bicycles(stilll working on starting thread!), and I won a handful on ebay the other day. Cghap selling said he had bought a house and they were left behind. anyway off I went in the mondeo to pick them up, the address given was an old cottage out in a tiny village, roughly 10miles from gloucester but galaxies away in terms of setting. anyway, the place was derelict, a knackered old cottage clearly abandoned when already in a state of vast disrepair. met the seller of the bikes and he told me that the previous owner had inhereted another property some 5/6 years ao and just left this one, stuff included! all was being cleared as the building was being demolished to make way for a new house. anyway, as were all walking about I nearly walk straight into the back of a beemer! upon enquiring what it was doing there, I was told the previous owner had left that too! A 525 tds touring auto in Green (plate number N816CVC) and it will be scrapped when the V5c arrives, as a breaker will pay £180 for it.
I gave it a peruse and all things considered, huge milage (260k!!) and having been there at least 5 years, and a flat tyre, she looks pretty straight! interior all ok, and will go back for a closer look in the week (had offspring the less-impressed with me!) anyway, what to do! the guy was delighted when I said before you scrap it, call me and I will take it if I can! My brain being in no-way connected to my evidently MASSIVE mouth at this stage, as what what i do with it/don't need it/moving house myself etc all were forgotten! but it did look to good to pass up with out at least the option! so WHAT TO DO!?!?!?! do i save it/ Do I let him scrap it? what should i do if i do save it? or does anybody here want t save it? Cost will be 180 aparently. Thoughts??? sorry no pics at present, still cant work new laptop that well!!!
