This sounds great! Goodwood is a place i have on my 'must visit' list. But since a weekend RRG or anything in the UK will cost me 2 weeks off at work, of 4 i have available each year, i'd probably give this event a miss, as the gathering is my yearly pelgrimage (must keep my 100% attendance up, right? ). Don;t be discourgaged by a dutchie who doesn't want to come though, as it sounds awesome!

Thanks for the explanation, it's all understood and not a problem, just giving feedback as requested ... Midlands and South East get the majority of events. The drive to the event is part of the fun for me but there is a limit I had a quick look on Routemap to see the distances from home (Northumberland / Tyneside) RRG16 is 500 mile return Goodwood is 700 return Midlands (Birmingham) is 450 - and suits me for personal reasons Not for me this time, but I like the idea!

This does sound like a great idea for a weekend away & Goodwood is a lot less travelling time than Shelsley Walsh for me. I will still be at Shelsley Walsh next Friday

Sounds great! I'd not be able to commit to a full weekend camping, but could manage at least one day trip.

I'd love to come and think it's a great idea but the location yet again it means that Southern folk get yet another car event but the North misses out. From West Yorks it's at least a 5 hour drive without traffic, and here we aren't even that far north. A ten hour round trip is no trifling matter!! There's loads going on in the South, be different and come up North. :/ Rrg attracts people from Ireland and the continent year on year. If a show is worth going to, it's worth going to. I didn't go last year, but the year before that, I flew over in June, got a mate to take to somewhere an hours drive out of Sheffield in the sticks, bought car there, drove it to Northampton, stashed it there, went home, flew back in August, bought new tent and camping gear there, got car out, drove to Shelsley, stopping several times nursing a cracked rad, tiny fuel tank, all at 45 mph flat out, camped out, watched everyone else leave at 3pm, set off home, nursed it to ferry in Wales, pleaded with customs to let me take jerry can with me on boat, slept on a chair for 4 hours, drove another 3 hours, still at 45 mph, made it home on Monday afternoon sometime. It's too far only applies to day shows. If you really want to go, you can make it happen.

Saturday will be a RWYB sprint type thing using a large section of the track (like we did in the first event). If it was anything like 2007 Mallory I'd be all over it like a tramp on chips and I have the winter and spring to get the car sorted However - that would have a small disadvantage - I'd want to be participant in it not involved with it......

Tbh after years of organising meets and shows , I kinda lost interest and stayed away from the show scene for five years , this is the event that has reignited my interest with my young lad we will definetly attend In his escort

Retro rides at Goodwood would be a no brainier for me. I'd try to make the full weekend. I'd find the RWYB and Sunday shows equally interesting.

Great idea. All weekend makes journeys much more worth it and rewarding. The weather is mildly more predictable, and less likely to rain. Earlier in the season is a plus, August is just too busy. Good wood... Yes! Trackside shows with inclusive action always a winner, the Mallory RR show was genuinly awesome.
