Okay so this has been bubbling under for a while and I've mentioned the basic plan to a few people to gauge some interest, thought I'd throw it open to the wider community and see how keen people are.
Elevator Pitch: 10 year's ago next year Retro Rides did its first big event, a two day event with track action at a motor racing circuit. To celebrate this anniversary we'd like to return to a motor racing circuit for a couple of days and have some fun.
So,
Two day event Saturday and Sunday in May at Goodwood Circuit.
Friday camping (maybe with big group BBQ) Saturday will be a RWYB sprint type thing using a large section of the track (like we did in the first event). Paddock with a themed selection of cars in each paddock (got the themes in my head but not revealing them yet) along with a selection of club/display areas on the outside of the circuit.
Saturday camping with night drive in (or walk in) cinema with big screen, food and all that good stuff
Sunday : Club/parking on track (like a breakfast club on steroids), displays still in paddocks. Parade laps/Promenade (depending on logistics of how we move cars around). Awards.
There is a poll here just to say if you'd be interested and what manner you'd be interested.
It is a big undertaking for us to do a second show (Gathering would still run), particularly a two day event, so I'm still considering if my sanity can take it, but I'd like to know what the community thinks.

I don't mean to push this along, but if this does go ahead can the date be released as soon as possible. I ask this because the company I work for demand that we book our 2017 holidays at the beginning of October, ( I know, Blood crazy ) But if I leave it too late availability will be nonexistent.

Yeah I plan to make a decision soon, there are a couple of heritage collections and museums I need to speak to for the paddock displays.

Yes, yes, yes. Count me in. Great circuit, nice crowd, interesting cars. I'm in.
It is a very expensive track to rent, though. Have you costed it yet?
I'd be happy to round up a few MotorPunk readers, too.

I chose option four for the warm involvement feeling without the commitment. But honestly i would be interested in sat+sun, probably wouldn't do a Friday

It is a very expensive track to rent, though. Have you costed it yet? Yup all costed, run the numbers from a modest attendance point of view (lower than Gathering) and it adds up. It is more the potential psychological damage I am trying to work out. Also need to air the idea to a wider audience to see if there is a desire

The costings were of concern to me too! The ingredients do sound like a great mix however. Sign me up .

Forgot to say in original message (will update when I'm back on computer) :
Weekend tickets would be £40 inclusive of two days of show access. Day tickets would be £10

If there was a "Saturday or Sunday" option I would have ticked it (probably can't escape for a whole weekend but both days sound good). I ticked Saturday only because there wasn't. Cheers Duncan

Sounds good to me and I think the missus would tag along too meaning I could bring 2 cars. ...
Love the venue.

I'd be in for it but it needs track action open to all cars (not just road legal stuff). A chance to run the full circuit would be nice too but sprint is good enough.
Retro Kings was phenomenal last year. Best car show format going but sadly I won't make it there this year. It would be good to have more similar events to that.
More track time = better

potentialy intereested but would depend on dates and what sort of cars are being aimed at to attend and weather i have my project car finished or not At least 2 of my planned paddocks would be relevant to your interests It would be the late May Bank Holiday weekend. I'm sure it clashes with a bunch of stuff (off the top of my head I can name three things), would be interested to know if there is anything in the rod and custom world that is a 'must do' that we'd clash with.
