I just wanted to let you guys know that Jim, or 106e30 as he was here, sadly died on Wednesday evening after a spell in St Bartholomews Hospital, London. Jim was my partners son, but more than that he was my friend. He was a lovely guy with a real passion for cars of all sorts and he loved being a part of things here. The RR Gathering was always his favourite show, where he could take the BMW E30 318is that he cherished. I hope to arrange a bit of a gathering and cruise, as a way of saying goodbye and celebrating Jims love of cars in some small way. Any of you would be welcome and I will post details, as soon as I have them. Thank you, Mark

Mark, so sorry to hear of your loss, I work close to St Barts and walk past every day, yet never really consider that some of the patients might be people I've met in a very different setting a long way from here. I met Jim a couple of times and spoke at length about all things E30 and particularly about his car as I had one also. Was a lovely guy.
RIP Jim.

That is really very sad news indeed Mark...
I met Jim a couple of times at the little classic car meeting I put on and I found him to be a lovely chap with plenty of time for a chin-wag.
He was clearly and intelligent and passionate chap as he really was engaging to speak to!
Anyhow, I hope you and your nearest and dearest get over your loss very soon and remember the good times...
RIP Jim
