Hey folks, Here it is, the answer to the question people seem to be unable to stop themselves for answering... well kind of an answer. Hit us up with a subscribe so we can get a better url on youtube if you can Or stream, or download here : shoutengine.com/RetroRidesPodcast/retro-rides-podcast-episode-5-what-is-retro-17190Also on iTunes when it updates There we go, definitively answered. There need be no more discussion on this subject* Not sure what is up next beyond me needing to spend some time trying to work out where the hum is coming from in my audio system so I can record these properly. *I give it a week before it is asked again.

Maybe you should pin this pod cast to the forum registration page ....
Please listen to Podcast 5 to proceed with this registration ........
I agree to the terms and conditions as heard in the above broadcast ....,
That would work ..... ( ok probably not!)
Now i've heard you talk about the sudject, and explaining it like you did,i find myself (in general) agreeing with you ......... Now i need a lie down ....
British Style ..... That would be a good debate.

What's going on with the audio? is one of you in an outside broadcast unit?
The difference in the audio between you is comparable to FM & MW.
Do you have an address which i can send you a microphone? I have a couple of good ones here and I don't use them.
Another great show, but the audio .... ouch!
Hums on PC's are notoriously hard to get rid of - Try a USB external soundcard first though.
If the hum is on a mac it's going to stay there.
Got lots of old peripherials I don't mind donating.

What's going on with the audio? is one of you in an outside broadcast Almost. One of us is on Skype being played through speakers. The recording is done on a Zoom H5. The plan is to get the laptop to record as a channel in the Zoom, then record both sides locally, and swap out the audio tracks (which the zoom separates). But the laptop -> amp -> zoom hum is so distracting I cant do it. I suspect the amp to Zoom output, but it isn't the lead or the connector, so I need to maybe have a rethink (something like an external sound card may be in order).

I enjoyed listening despite any audio problems. I did wonder about the sound but thought if I did anything similar I would have to hide in the shed so as not to get disturbed. I can't think of any interesting car facts either.

Strongly recommend this one - only way I could get near perfect audio. £23 is well worth it. www.amazon.co.uk/Behringer-UCA202-U-Control-low-latency-Interface/dp/B000KW2YEI/ref=sr_1_1?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1458474386&sr=1-1&keywords=behringerAnother method which will sound more equal is for you both be on skype and both record each other - then you mix together. May not need the soundcard for that. You could also try using Soundflower (mac only) to record input audio whilst you still hear it - Audacity records and allows listening on PC too. Really like the podcast - It's like a natter down the pub without getting trashed. Perfect.

Yep, as already stated, another interesting and informative podcast. Personally I've been quietly browsing mk1 Focus estates for some while. I don't know why I suddenly find them interesting, but I do!

Can you point us to the interesting cars mentioned in the podcast, like the Rover and other things? That would be neat. Not all of us have been on RR since Mk1 Focus estates were new.

My lass is out with her work friends, so I've got a few hours to myself so I put the podcast on. A good listen, I enjoyed it. Interesting to hear the views on the Passat B5. I've got an A4 B5 and I was after a better parcel shelf for it, I went to the local scrapyard and the place was full of passats and a4's all meeting their end, but luckily getting pulled apart and helping others survive.
It was good to hear the 65 to 95 year rule put into place, it helps keep things on track.
The one thing I wondered though, what if is someone had a something like a1996/1997/1998 car that was an identical unchanged production model to a 1993/1994/1995 car, is that still allowed? Something like the bmw e36 is a perfect example.

Don't take it the wrong way Gents but perhaps it could be worth looking at again?
The source level seems very low e.g. whereas other podcasts are audible at say volume 10 to 20, I find I need to turn up to near max and the audio quality seems poor.
