I was having a little think about the Podcast and realised that it is probably at its best on the Simon an I edition when we get to talk about a subject. My original thought was to go through the forum and find something interesting when we were recording. Now I think it might be a good idea to have a theme for the episode, so far I've got a handful : Modifying and The Law Trends we'd like to see Under modified cars Would love to know if there is anything you'd like us to have a chat about. On the other side are interviews, my list (and wish list) for these is more full formed, so far I have in my head : Ones I think I can get together : Mike Burroughs (of Stanceworks fame) Simon Woolley (first ed. of Retro Cars) Dan White (current ed. of Retro Cars) Bryn Musselwhite (Journo and teller of stories) John Beardmore (Minor supremo and retro legend) Alan Thomas (KPGC10 owner and super interesting guy) Gregor Marshall Stephen Harper (designer of the Montego, MGF and Volvo 480 ) Wish list: Mattias Vocks Jay Leno Roadkill team Mighty Car Mods team Amy Shore (photographer) Chris Evans Chris Harris Jonny Smith Actually my wish list could go on forever if I started adding racing drivers and other designers. Who would you like to see us interview?

Sorry what I mean to say is all the above would be interesting , but one of the reasons I'm here is the other users of this great forum, I've posted some stuff and then thought, how stupid have I made myself sound?? As I'm sure some others have? An Insite into some members would be great it would give a different perspective on them, what they enjoy about cars, what they don't and what they've owned or wish to own?

I wouldn't say Jonny Smith is a Wish List, he's an RR member after all.
I can ask him if you like?

Firstly thank you for making these and please keep it up - I really enjoyed listening to the podcasts when I finally got round to listening them last night (well, 2/3).
Both ideas above align with what I thought too, interviews would be extremely interesting to get wider insight/opinions (but perhaps too "industrial"??) whereas the questions posed in the first podcast I especially enjoyed because they came from this forum. As you said in the first podcast RR is in it's own little niche, which I think would best be discussed by actively involved members. Note - being fairly new here I have no idea if the names on your first list are part of this forum, so sorry if my lack of knowledge causes offence to anyone

The law aspect would be great if it included a bit about how the rest of Europe and the us ,Australia approach it

Just ordinary retro rides members..... This.... All of your suggestions sound wonderfull, but just the 'ordinary' RR members would be even better for me, this place is full of great people! For instance: I'd love to hear more about Mark Bognor's ideas about his Micra (allthough i can/should probably buy retro cars to got more info on that) etc. etc. Famous people are interesting, but i'd love to hear more about us!

It's not a topic suggestion could I suggest that the podcast audio quality be further improved please Gents? I need to get a mic and the line in sorted from the computer (the cable I did have for this isn't good enough), the podcast is currently recorded on a Zoom H5 sat in a room with rmad on my speakers and me talking the other side of it (thus the slight left/right split in audio too). It isn't ideal. It'll get better.

This is the whole "I wish there were more normal/reader rides cars in magazines" thing... it sounds like a great idea, and it sort of interesting occasionally, but if you fill up a magazine with cars that look like your mates and your own cars, people stop buying it. Same with the podcast, I do plan to talk to RR folk for sure, but there needs to be at least partly a compelling reason to. "you like cars, I like cars!" isn't that interesting in the long run. Talking to Blown Imp about how he ended up working in F1 and for Jaguar was interesting, even though he isn't a 'celeb' he has an interesting story to tell, it is a shame it sounds like it was recorded on a potato and won't get shared. There are plenty of people around with interesting stories to tell and I've got my eyes out for them for sure. You can see this in the Ask Me Anythings on reddit, the questions to the majority of people become very similar and the answers too, it is only occasionally that you get a compelling one, with limited time and resources I need to make sure we get maximum bang for our (time) buck. If someone wants to match my current salary I'll happily do this all day instead and interview everyone So .. anyone who has an interesting story to tell, here or otherwise? I wouldn't say Jonny Smith is a Wish List, he's an RR member after all. I can ask him if you like? Yeah I should have been a bit clearer, everyone on both lists is attainable I think, we managed to interview Nick Mason once!! The first list are people I've had relatively recent (within the past year or so) contact with. The second list are people I've not spoken to, or I'm unsure they would be willing to do a podcast thing. If you are happy to drop him a message that would be ace, also I want Flux Capacitor at The Gathering
