I came across this forum looking for information on my Mazda and what do you know you posted a thread about it being for sale before I even owned it, lol! It has changed a lot since you last saw it and can't find the post with it on before.
Anyway I bought the car off a friend as a project as it has a lot of rot and rust and it was something I have never done before. And wanted to use the opportunity to try and learn as much as I can and develop my skills. So please bare this in mind.
Let's start the project story I bought the car back in October 2014 MOT'd and Tax'd and drove it about 3 times. Then put in the garage until a couple of weeks ago. I thought it's about time I start this project. I also bought a Stage 2 CA18DET was dyno'ed running 290BHP in a Nissan 200SX S13, came with everything needed.
What car looked like before I started working on it.
Day 1
Removed the wing as was rotten and a lot of had already fallen off because rust. So my first ever attempt and fabricating parts from sheet metal and welding them on. Day 1 consisted of just the sill part and removal of the wing.
Day 2 - Tacked the arch where it is rotten just above the sill as seen in one above pictures.
Day 3 - Tackling the rust on the front of the wing as also pictures in one of the above pictures.
Day 4 - Filling and Sanding the arch to create the original line as close as possible, didn't get a chance to completely finish the wing as ran out of filler so I moved onto tackling the rust on the strut top area's and inner arch, then I also ran out of gas lol. So that's not finished will be doing more next weekend.
