Here comes the new year, what events are we all planning to get to. From out point of view our plans currently look like : January Autosport International March Goodwood Members Meeting (tickets arrived today ) Bilsport Custom and Performance show (maybe) July RETRO RIDES SUMMER HOLIDAY at Le Mans Classic ( www.facebook.com/events/1489699784662871/ I'm quite excited) August RETRO RIDES GATHERING 2016 November SEMA (hopefully) These are the only ones in my calendar that are already planned. Last year I ended up going to a bunch of events each month that I hadn't planned to. What are you going to and what are your suggestions?

For me so far my diary contains: FreddyFiles in Ninove - a weekend of aircooled VW wonder, never been before. Should be interesting. 65 sleeps. As many VWDRC rounds as I can get to. Easter should be a definite but Big Bang is out because I'm elsewhere. Bug Jam more than likely, plus the Summer Nationals etc. The Sambasaurus should be out a lot this year Easter is 79 sleeps away. I won't be at Big Bang because I'll be crossing Europe on my way to Woerthersee again! Woop! 107 sleeps Le Mans Classic... Just been looking at the club lists and things on the website, can't wait for that. 184 sleeps. And RRG for the second time evAr. See you there in 223 sleeps Plus whatever else I can fit in, especially anything interesting at Oulton Park and any local rallying I can get to. Fun year ahead

For me, almost nothing at all. I very nearly got made redundant a few weeks ago, but then got offered a new job within the same company. In 3 weeks I start an adult apprenticeship and I am being retrained in our companies academy and it lasts 6 months. This means a bit of a drop in wages while I retrain, so I'm going to have a quiet life and pretty much stay at home in my spare time till its done. Quite a scarey thing for me, it's like going back to school and I'm 40.
My big plan as mentioned in another post is to have a big sell off of all the stuff I don't use. Also I'm going to stop drinking as much too, I spend too much on bottles of nice spirits. The money from selling plus drinks saving is going to get put to one side and hopefully I'll be able to get a retro car and come to the gathering as a treat once my 6 months apprenticeship is over.
I'll be looking forward to all the photos and event reports while I'm training and studying away!

Starting over is scary, but if my mum can do it in her late 40s you can do it now ... good luck with the budgeting and retro car purchase, we believe in you!

havent got any shows planned yet however I'm hoping to make much marcle and welland steam shows this year aswell as truckfest at malvern and vhra pendine but nothing is certain. I'm moving into a new place atm, i might be having my hip operation this year although i thought that last year and the year before. also o/h is expecting so a little person will be with us by the end of march. currently having a bit of a push to sell off some photographs on ebay in the hope of saving the money from them and putting it towards buying something pretty stupid at the end of this year.

Autosport International, i've been wanting to go for years and for one reason or another haven't been able to make it, so i'm very much looking forward to that.
Retro Show at the pod. This is a provisional but I quite fancy it after not having gone for ages.
RRG missed a few years, again due to silly reasons and both me and my brother definitely want to make it this year.
Having a road worthy mildly retro car is a boon this year and I'm just going to try and get out and drive it as much as possible!
Funnily enough I also have a load of stuff to sell to try and amass funds for the Polo.

I don't go to many shows anymore, just small fetes and such like with my wife and children, often get to see cars displayed that don't attend big shows and owned by the original owners, and this year I must give up lager...and constantly being on RR of an evening! Well if I give up the booze I will be richer and healthier!

First things first, make this Photoshop happen: Then, finish tidying this up and roll the rear arches properly: Finally, pull my finger out and get the engine in this and welded up (old pic): Try and get to more car meets and shows and generally keep up the current car mojo to the level it is now

1. Go to Pendine to see this: this- Handy that Pendine was mentioned as it reminded me to book a hotel for the Saturday night. 2. Drive my Mustang, maybe to the Gathering. 3. Unveil new super-secret project which involves cash, a shop called Langy's and my upcoming 40th birthday.

Finish renovating my house Build a garage Bring my bluebird home Finish the bluebird* In-between that, I'll be snowboarding and cycling as much as possible while possible. More car stuff, FIA WEC and ELMS at Silverstone as always, Le Mans (proper) and maybe drag my ass to a static hard parking show to see what all the fuss is about. *maybe
