Well I loves me some retro Baja muscle, as some of you may be aware. Here is an old thread I dug up today that this reminded me of. Well worth a look. Anyway, this morning I saw... "The Mint 400" 1978 - The Great American Off-Road Race.
Grab some popcorn... Just look at this Chevy! The whole roof is a giant wing! I mean COME ON! I did a Google and came up with loads more pics but I'm not posting them all in the hope that someone else comes along and puts some in here. I'll start you off - linkySome of the pics that came up reminded me of the other thread, which was more about the cars that were entered - as opposed to the trucks, jeeps and buggies etc. This sorta stuff:

That is probably the coolest Pacer, I have ever seen. Definitely the coolest Baja style car.

lol at the original video. i guess these drivers are either dead of silicosis or permenantly wheelchair bound from spinal injuries there looks like about an inch of travel on that chevy, ouch

there looks like about an inch of travel on that chevy, ouch Indeed,but its alright coz they haz shoulder pads on the harnesses That Chevy does look pretty awesome tho

Chevy driver was Frank Vessels III a champion horse breeder. Vessels died on August 11, 2010, when the Aero Commander 500 airplane he was piloting crashed just outside of Burns, Oregon. Vessels and one passenger were killed.[10] He was 58 years old at the time of his death.
