I just found this on Facebook. I quite like that, although I suspect there may be a bit of rubbing going on at times! Ronal Turbos are a fairly predictable choice (or they were, hardly anyone seems to run them now) but not on an ADO16. And it's an Innocenti one too! I love ADO16s, when I was heavily into Minis they were a car I wanted so badly, ideally an orange 1300GT with a black vinyl roof. Sadly I'm 250 miles away from my photo archives so hopefully later I'll get time to go googling for some other interesting ones. I know there's a very good RMad photoshop out there somewhere, but what does anyone else have?

There's a proper 90s one of these round my way, lowered on stock steels and painted turquoise. I have so far failed to obtain pictorial evidence of this though.

Some really nice work in that car! Love it. I think the ADO16 is quite under-appreciated as a base for modifying.

Probably because it's so hard to find one with enough metal left to attach an engine to! I had 2, back in the day, a Morris that you could pick up the rear seat and watch the road go by - and a 66 MG1100 which I loved but a mate borrowed and married to a London Brick Company lorry head on, there wasn't much left! ^^^^ now there's a coincidence Steve! Back in the day, prob about 1974, my old fella had a '65 MG1100 for a while. Sills were rotten at 8 years old, suspension had numerous leaks, etc etc..... Was a really cool car tho, and he only paid about £40 for it. His dad also had an Austin 1300 brand new around 1971. That particular example was I think the worst car ever to roll out of the BL factory, was never right from day one. It was the only car my granddad ever bought new, and it put him off for life. I have to admit, I liked 'em, and would love to do one now, unfortunately, as has already been mentioned, the levels of rot on them is horrendous. Difficult to find a complete one now....

The first car I ever travelled in was my dad's Wolseley 1100 after I was born. He tells me that was a rot box too. I think most cars from that era rotted like hell to be honest.

Well this thread has given me the horn for AD016's!
Lowered, standard steels slightly widend, painted black and with the hub caps removed. Period buckets and harnesses and a breathed on 1275. Would be awesome.
Any idea if suspension can be replaced with Mini rubber cones? I imagine the spheres must be solid unobtanium by now!

My dad was a mad collector of these in the 80s and 90s. After my mum passed her test he wouldn't let her drive his hunter gls so he bought daisy, a red 1300 to take us to school. Had twin su's and some other bits and the look on some of the local boy racers faces after they were beaten at the lights by a woman in a 25 year old shed was priceless. After that was written off by a truck in the side he bought a blue 1100 and rebuilt the 1300 engine from Daisy's carcass to put in it. Until a ver clean mk1 Morris arrived then he got offered a rough but complete vanden plas and a beige donor car. After that he sold the hunter to buy a house with a bigger driveway and we soon had five but only two that worked. He died in 95 but one of the most enduring memories was the collection of ado's.

I've just read the build thread on this gem. Can someone with the knowledge please explain the 'innocenti' name tag ? I've obviously heard of it, but have no idea as to what it means. Is it spec ? Different trim, engine ??
