Thought I would make a thread about this one.
Bought it on here and it has form with retro rides. ( been owned by two chaps on here)
and now I'm going to go about improving it and doing some fettling. I'm doing it because these things are properly rare now ( most are broken for the LSD gearbox - T Series turbo conversions and the seats).
Why a Rover 800 ? I have an odd fetish for old rovers. I saw a 620ti and I missed it on ebay by £4. I didn't want this to happen again so I jumped on this thing.
Its just very retro. The size of thing, its simply enormous. but interesting to drive. surprisingly quick. Reminds me of my 95 Aero hot speed wise. Handling is quite funny. great turn in. rollbut the grip is good! but you have to remember its a 19 year old Rover and therefore its full of Faults that need sorting.
Body wise its good. It needs a dam good polish but it makes quite a good account for itself. Inside its fantastic.
Ill update this as I go but I went through the car and made a list of all the stuff I need to sort
Small exhaust blow
Bumper needs rehanging.
Speedo Sensor goes on strike
Electric Window Switch is recalcitrant
All the speakers have had their day
New Buttons required for the key thobs
Main Beam, handbrake, Left indicator and Hazard Light Tale tells not working on the dash!
Lots of blown bulbs around interior.
Recirculation flap broken
Passenger door facia needs attention.
The Rear view mirror fell off.
Exhaust Taps something on the rear probably roll bar.
