Lovely sunny day in Bromley today. The Pageant is one of the few shows that I take the family to, so a lot of these were taken whilst balancing a three year old on my shoulders... More pics here. Lovely sunny day in Bromley today. The Pageant is one of the few shows that I take the family to, so a lot of these were taken whilst balancing a three year old on my shoulders... "Family friendly" would describe the show quite well... as long as you have the kind of family who react well to being stuck in a basting hot car in stationary traffic for TWO bleedin HOURS trying to get in Unfortunately, my particular family are more the sort that rapidly revert to chimps under such circumstances. Honestly, I love the show but they really need to sort the access out somehow, it's getting worse every year [/RANT] On a positive, superb photos given the child-juggling secondary function multi-tasking. As usual, I rely on you to show me what I missed.

Lovely weather and a nice day out but I was a little disappointed with the show this year. I decided to train / walk this with my family as my car still isn't finished. So many cars at the event, It was car nut heaven! But I wouldn't call a fleet of newish shape Subaru Impreza's rolling about playing dub step loudly, classic or retro. Or any post 2000 BMW but they seemed well supported. I could have seen that at my local Tesco's. My eldest son is sadly not into car's, told me he didn't see the point in paying to visit a car show when we have a car park opposite our house! It's not that I don't like modern car's but modifying an already sporty car seems pointless. Modified Kia Rio? That would be interesting haha.
100's of Ford's and BL stuff at the ground which is nice but how many times can you go ahhhh to an Escort or Mini? Only six Rootes car's at the show including, I believe a Toyota powered Imp. Not a single Arrow series- Hunter, Minx, Vogue or Sceptre!

Seems like there was (as always) an amazing turnout of unusual and rare classics as well as retro - bearing in mind it is a car enthusiast event and also attracts and welcomes modern stuff. I would drive for a day and wait in traffic for two hours just to have a poke about that Sapporo! I usually go every year but was working yesterday, totally forgot all about it. Thanks for taking me there on Monday morning Bizzle!

modifying an already sporty car seems pointless. I think you might be in a minority there. I hope so! I like the odd fellow doing something different. Take the lovely pictures you provided, looking at the blue BMW, I don't see why It's here. Sure it looks nice, but with modern manufactures styling especially BMW, how does it look modified, classic or retro? Isn't it stock? I bet you could get those wheels and suspension package as a dealer option? It looks like a modern company car.

What, this one? DSC_9244 by dbizzle_, on Flickr No, that isn't stock. Not by a long way. DSC_9245 by dbizzle_, on Flickr DSC_9246 by dbizzle_, on Flickr DSC_9248 by dbizzle_, on Flickr DSC_9247 by dbizzle_, on Flickr The point of the show is diversity - different people like different things, and it's all well represented. If you don't like that BMW, walk ten feet to the left and look at the Alpine Renaults. And so on. Something for everyone. I thought it was a great show, and surely it's better to enjoy the many, many gems on display rather than bemoaning the presence of the ones you don't like?

Bizzler, we got there about 09:45. And got in the gate about midday. I think it depends which way you end up approaching from. We came in from the Hastings Road southeastern end and unfortunately once you're trapped in the snarl-up, you're stuck there. Saw plenty of cars brew up in the queueus... an old Jag XK 120 0r 140, couldn't tell which, a Mustang, a Velox-thing... even a Toyota Sera, lol. Hot old place to be, one of those with all that glass! Fortunately most of them made it into the show eventually but not really the point. Add in the total lack of quick or easy disabled access parking and it makes it a bit too much like hard work just getting in for the rewards inside... ...and I can kinda see where Mr Luscious is coming from, to be fair. There certainly are a lot of extremely anonymous and/or arguably inappropriate cars there nowadays. But then I adopt the policy of just walking past the dull ones till I find a good one. Certainly in the years I've been going, the dull ones have swung to outweighing the good ones. If I wasn't going as a family day out I expect I wouldn't bother going, because for just myself I think I'd feel cheated. But it's a great day out for a family trip, and meet up with friends and just chill in the hot sun (always seems to be scorchio) and scoff Mr Whippies. I even got to shake Fuzz Townshend's hand and chat... if I'd known I'd have took my copy of The Looks or The Lifestyle along for him to sign I'll get my photos sorted and posted sometime... probably be about eight months, lol. And that Sapporo was amazoid, but annoyingly I never got any pics of it cos I had to rescue the kids at that point and forgot to go back So thanks again for filling in the blanks

I was there, great show, great weather, great cars. As for that E46 M3 it is highly modified owned by Sam who is a member of many forums, there are lots of write ups of that car, check them out its is a fast road/track orientated motor. People online have been moaning about the show not being retro enough and showing to much modern machinery??? Its a motoring pageant not a classic car show . I must say though the subaru club darting around the arena area with there overfueling, low rev limiting asbo looking motors was a bit tradgic. The BMW lads were alot more refined whilst on there at the same time.

I think the show was smaller this year, still a cheap day out, as i got in the one make parking which meant £5 for the car, me and the missus.
The gate / security staff were useless and complete tossers tho, at least where i come in on the common. Shouted at as i entered, as he didnt believe i had the ticket on my phone, then about ten foor after one lady had scanned my ticket, another bloke told me i had a normal ticket, until i pointed out the 'one make parking' printed right across it. And the farce with the direction and traffic outside it was a joke.
If they sorted all that out, would have been alot easier.

I agree, we came in the one make entrance, the bald bloke at that gate was a total prick. He didnt even know that was the "One make " entrance. We then finally got in after he stopped moaning and drove straight in , nobody asked for payment of a ticket or anything .... BONUS !
