Yeah, an SR20 in an Australian Alfa 105. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think this is the same conversion that was in a car that showed up at the RR W. Sussex Pub Meet? I know it had a Nissan engine, but I can't remember exactly what it was. Anyway, I like this one even more - and that's saying something. Pics of the conversion here: www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.711508672271135.1073741922.113537325401609&type=3

I love the 105 series Alfas, this one is a seriously beautiful car... I would never have thought of fitting the Nissan engine, especially with the original Alfa units being so special, but I can appreciate why.... Reliability as well as plenty of power in one of the best handling cars of its time? Oh yes please.....

Wow. The original engine is a peach (and very dependable, don't be mistaken) but the turbo whoosh must be awesome in such a light shell Also, bolt-on arches and wiiide steels: yes. A million times yes.

I think I need a bit of a lie down in a dark room, that's left me a little flustered and funny-feeling. You should warn people before you show them things like that!

Wow! how did I miss this, just seen a pic on the Retro Stance facebook page and been hunting the web for more, save as'd all the pics you posted, and found the builders FB page.
This is the awesomest thing I have seen for a long time, definitely car of the year material.
Yeah EmDee there was an SR20'd Alfa at the sussex meet a while back. Fella claimed (tongue firmly in cheek) that because of the Alfa Arna that the SR was the obvious choice as there was a genetic link between the two.

Yup that is fairly fantastic.
The only thing I think would be a let down would be the noise. An Alfa twin cam is a lovely sounding engine, whereas an SR20 sounds like a tractor!

That's brilliant. Just copied it to the Alfa forum I'm a member of. I'll be interested to hear their views.
