I bought this car a while back in 2012 as a drift ready 2L 320i auto which had been converted to manual. Fitted MiMs, this was mandatory I did a few Pod and Norfolk days and the car was superb rough and ready. The wheezy 2L M20 just wasn't giving me enough though. and some burnouts I had a spare incomplete E28 535i M30B34 engine, converted it to E34 535i motronic loom/ecu/sensors. E30 M10 318i gearbox, E30 M3 S14 flywheel, E30 M20 6 puck paddle clutch. E28 525i radiator. E39 huge electric fan. Off the shelf "Lee Parkes" engine mounts, pucks. Also fitted gaz GHA coilovers, yay Done and MOT'd (Late July 2014) The car is awesome, exactly what I wanted it to be. So good I got too carried away at a Snetterton drift day (late July 2014) The cars not too bad, just needed to pull out the front panel, straighten replace the wing, lights, grill, rad and fan! Here's me not crashing After some bending and fresh parts later.... Edd (bodieandoyle) got the car much straighter! (mid August 2014) Finished fixing the car mid August and then took it to the Retro Rides Gathering 2014. I took it along with my E23 730 and Rich took his E28, Simon took duties in driving the E30 there and back Of course I took it up the hill! AWESOME On the way back from RRG'14 it split a rad hose as the E39 electric fan has stopped working. I managed to limp it home and it's currently awaiting me to fit a new mishimoto 16" electric fan. Then lots and lots of tracking and drifting.

That is a very cool line up of bm's. I think I met you at santa pod when I was drifting a rover sd1? Long time ago.

No, its sitting mothballed at the moment. It decided to eat its propshaft, and the crank pulley is a bit wonky. That and a new job that eats my time meant drifting has taken a back seat. Ive also been working on another rover. I hope to be back out in the sd1 sometime later this year.

I've never quite understood these people that have lots of old BMW's, when they could just have one!

Long time no update... Cars have massively taken a back seat recently but I still have this and tinker with it when I get a chance. Santa Pod Drifting Jan 2016 My 69 year old dad wants to get into drifting... Here he is smashing into a puddle! Norfolk Arena Drift Day Jan 2016 - Since dad is getting into it, I chucked him the keys for the day and he was the main driver. Fantastic day, all the pics are of him driving The car had been trailered and off the road since May 2015 and was getting really worse for wear with numerous battle scars. I wanted it back on the road and looking reasonably in one piece again! Bring out the Graffiti paint New rear arches and welding the inner arches are currently being tackled Should see the road again in early 2017

Very cool. My Dad is also 69 so this is a particularly interesting turn of events to me.
Hmmm. Christmas present sorted.

I never updated this... So the transformation was complete! It had fresh rear arches both sides and all the rust chopped out and welded back in. As above it was then graffiti'd some sort of turquoise. Before I refitted all the panels, ahem Alongside Rich's E28 getting re-assembled Getting there... Mandatory MOT photo I left some 11s down millionaire's row! #artshot

I then did track day at Snetterton over the summer which was fantastic fun, though the engine was struggling to stay cool. Resident RRG track organiser / guru Bstardchild recognised that there was barely any air flow going towards the radiator. Being the lower 320i model the front panel and lower valance does not have extra air flow the 325i had. So... Bring out the holesaw! I also stripped off some restrictive shrouding on the chrome bumper to allow more airflow Alongside my E23... I then did a drift day at Snetterton and the speedholes had a huge affect on keeping the engine cool. Here I am alongside Matt in his Laurel.

I absolutely love the original colour of that mate! It looks like similar to the Jade green my early mk2 Golf GTI was in
