It looks like the adverts for the remake of Thunderbirds have started to be aired! So my question is what will "Nosey" (Parker) be driving this time? In the puppet series it was a Rolls Royce, but in the live action movie it was a Ford which looked and was wrong on so many different levels!

The Ford Thunderbird based car from the film was probably imposed by sponsorship or product placement. I'd guess they could make a new version out of pixels now so it could look like anything. I could easily see an updated version of the original though, based on the styling of current Rollses.

Well it is currently on a Rolls! Lol If they use a Rolls, I hope they fit steels with chrome trims. Alloys on a Roller: wrong

That car was originally designed as a Rolls-Royce - I have seen the original drawings and CAD renderings as a good friend of mine was the concept designer. His version was amazing, but what featured in the film was very hacked about compared to what he created - not just the nose being changed, but also the proportions and surfacing. I'm not familiar with the exact details as to why it had a modern Ford Thunderbird nose forced onto it, however I guess it was either a case of R-R saying no, or R-R not being prepared to pay for the product placement. Oh, and it is no accident that there is a prominent Hooper Empress Line along the flanks

Hi, it may be a case of RR not letting them use the grill, albeit stylised. They used to be very protective of their image.

Although the last incarnation of FAB1 let something to be desired on the front end it was at least bright pink with a bubble canopy - privacy tint a nice contemporary touch - and had steering twin front axle. These really are the key factors. It has to be ostentatious, massive, impractical and look very expensive which the FAB1 in the film managed to do but fell short with the nose end styling being a little too friendly.

The rights belong to Rolls Royce aerospace/ jet engine group ..... As the VAG group found out the hard way when they bought Bentley .... ( i did chuckle) The original Fab1 was based on a coach, and was the only 'non rolls' car to have the radiator and spirit of ecstasy emblem sactioned by the factory.

I thought seeing thunderbirds re hashed a few years after it had been made into a live action film might have been a bad idea but after reading an article (in link below) they are re doing "The Man from Uncle" www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-30477264So what will Solo be driving if not this little thing? Well the original Illya Kuryakin is currently cutting up and talking to the dead with Gibbs The new Cast Henry Cavill as Napoleon Solo Armie Hammer as Illya Kuryakin Hugh Grant as Mr. Waverly Elizabeth Debicki as Victoria Vinciguerra Alicia Vikander as Gaby Teller Jared Harris as Saunders Luca Calvani as Alexander Simona Caparrini as Contessa The old shows and films are being brought back and reset to original characters and setups. So Who/What is next? Captain Scarlet Chitty Chitty Bang Bang In like flint The Beverley Hills Hillbillys Danger Mouse Matt Helm The Avengers(Steed and Tara King or Mrs Peel) M*A*S*H Hart To Hart The Six Million Dollar Man(not that that much money will get you anywhere these days) Buck Rogers in the 25th Century Columbo Cannon Banacek Kojak

I do hope they rename THRUSH to... well, just about anything else really. Maybe Solo's new car could be a Jaguar F-Type?

If the battle against THRUSH is still ongoing then U.N.C.L.E should name their current vehicle the Canesten Combi...!!!
Anyhow...
