Do I get bored? Yes! Do I let it affect my decision? Nope! Well, I try not to let it...
The thing is I find that straight after a decision made with boredom the next feeling you get can often be regret and although you can fall back in love with something it is often harder to overcome regret...!
Selling my P6 V8 to buy my 'dream' Mk1 Granada was something I regretted at the time and still regret now. I know that I would've loved my P6 V8 all over again if I'd have kept it whereas the Granada and I never got on...!!!
I think that classic car boredom is almost inevitable, it's how you respond to it that counts...

Daily drivers yes, eventually but usually only after 2-3 yrs or so. The classics? Nope. Had the Imps for 8 yrs now and no plans to ever sell them. Likewise the Vogue I've had for over 6 years.

Once the mazda goes, I'm in 2 minds what to get. I have never owned a v8 or a turbo car. I think I might try either one of those next.

Seven cars this year but changed mostly to suit wifes disability and being able to get in them but having said that a classic v8 range rover and shogun special were good but i then say so was the alfa gtv and impreza. Even had ten days of owning reliant robin then appreciate my old rover 800 for comfort. Started the year with land rover ended with rover and not really out of pocket but fitted 4 exhausts all custom, three sport steering wheels and polished every one prior to swapping or selling. Neighbours say another one and i say yeah keeping this one but yeah glad I'm not the only one.

i think the problem with most of you, is you've been using your cars daily, you need a snotter to run around in, mine is a k11 micra that i got off the missus, then when you drive your "special car" it will feel special every time you drive it if you keep driving it all the time, you'll get bored or get annoyed with some aspects of the car leading you to get another

I guess I have been lucky. I have had most of the cars that I really lusted after. And luckier still getting a choice of company car. Luckily they weren't modern, E type, every turbo car that Renault made, Bentley turbo R, first registered 16v Astra, the list is a good one. I miss my R1 mini a lot tho. But was no longer practical for a daily. Kids put a stop to that. So no I don't get bored by my cars. Maybe a few more to get, but no hurry. I tell myself that if I buy something it's unlikely to be as nice as the one I had. That normally saves a few pound notes.

I just don't understand people chopping and changing between cars every 5 minutes. It's so much ball ache for tiny percentage differences. And we're not talking about super desirable cars are we? If you're honest it's usually very cheap, mundane stuff that no one else wants. If you go through 4 or 5 unspectacular cars in a year and nothing satisfies you it's pretty certain that cars number 6 and 7 won't do it either so stop torturing yourself. I think people just like to tick off as many models as they can so they can start threads like this!

I get bored of my daily all the time and then I do see it sitting in a car park and love it again. I always want to sell it but it's hard to part with it now. My little Renault... at one point it hadn't been opened in 11 months and I had no idea where the keys were and I just couldn't be bothered with it. Then I drove it again

Surely the cure for this boredom is to modify your car? Which is why we're all on this forum!
Make it faster, make it lower, make it a different colour, make it louder, make it... whatever you want. I'm not saying that it'll make you want to keep the same car forever, as there are limits to where you want to take a particular car I'm sure, but buying a car should be the start point, not the end goal, in my opinion.

Started with selling my Vennie Built her up from a bucket O rust to a show winner - I could have just ran that till I went to the pearly gates, but work died, I Was on a 3 day week - I couldnt afford the rent on the house, food, bills, so I sold her that was 14 years ago. Ironically 2 months after I sold here for bloody peanuts - my work got took over by a multinational and shortly after work went 24/7 It killed me and still does. If I just held on a little bit longer. Ever since Ive had manta's Cortina's , BMW 7 series, Camaro's, Monster trucks. etc....They are great for a few months. But its not a Vennie - long lost love syndrome I guess.

I get bored of the Multipla the whole time. But it's so damn useful, there's nothing I could get that has 3 seats in the front, enough space in the back for bikes, and that costs so little to buy and run. So I'll put up with it for a while longer, and spend my money on the Porsche instead. :-)

My Datsun in a long term keeper I hope... but I plan to have a rotating selection of cars as a second retro to just get the stupid ideas in my brain out, done and on show. There are so many cars, and so little time!

Yes. Totally. I recently built what was, in my eyes, the my ultimate E34 540i. genuine black 6 speed, ran for a while on M5 wheels with M5 LSD, M5 champagne interior, black headlining, loud exhaust, lowered (for performance not looks) and short shifter and a few other bits. next step would have been a supercharger. But, I bought an E28 M535i that was louder, wilder, rawer, not as fast, not as good in any way except I like it just as much. So I sold the 540i, which I regret and have done since the moment it went up for sale but I didn't drive it and wasn't going to. Normally though my cars self destruct LONG before I get bored of them.
It's just a classic case of the eyes being bigger than the storage space or disposable maintenance income available.

I do get bored but I also tend to buy cars for what I need at the time/next 12 months - don't see the point making doo when you can make life easy by changing cars - hence changing my new Beetle for a Golf Plus & my GTI for the CRV, I already know the CRV will be going next year & the Golf Plus might go.
I think my GTI has been one of a few that I havent got bored of.
For reference: Last 12months = 5 cars 12 Months previous = 4 cars 12 month previous = 6 cars

I've had my Audi since 98, I think you have to buy something you think is really special and don't use it everyday so it's special occasion when you drive it. Daily hacks are different though, they come and go.

I fill with guilt when i start getting bored of a car, especially over my current 78 corolla, I love the thing but recently ive been looking at other cars. I'm in an unfortunate position of only being able to have one car for myself at a time.
And to make matters worse ive been getting asked by random people if its for sale recently. I'm torn.

I used to keep cars for about a year - 18 months and then trade up for something newer/ faster/ more interesting. But these days I am the other way inclined, I have had the tr7 for 9 years, and the caravelle for 3 1/2. I keep looking at newer caravelles as air conditioning would be nice for the kids in summer but its not very serious looking. To stop my self being bored I add new gadgets or modify stuff, it usually works out cheaper.
