Well as it's being a nice day and started off cloudy here but warm and dry I thought I would give the car a good clean . So it's had Wash with dodo juice sour power Coat of poorboys black hole sun Coat of nattys blue hard wax ( my last bit of this so need to purchase a replacement ) All black bits coated with autoglym bumper snot Windows cleaned with rain ex Just after I had finished the wife suggested we took the kids to a local county park for a few hours on the sun, so I took the camera to get a few better pics of the car. Not a bad reflection Love the sparkle to comes out of the paint on the sun Have made a few alterations since I got it, like a good service as the air filter was a littje dirty Top is the old one, bottom is the new one. Most of that is oil marks, these cars have a tendency to get oil in the air box if it is either slightly over filled or care isn't taken when refilling and letting it get in the breather system Next up, the coils these have a habit of going wrong , one wary that has being suggested to improve things is my fitting a bit of exhaust heat wrap under the coil packs in a attempt to protect them slightly. At the same time this was fitted I also put some new Ngk plugs and uprated Ngk plug leads on. Starting and general running is now much better It's the 231 model in rare Nordic green

Got fed up of the off white wheels so they are presently being prepped for spray . Also orderd a set of tuner nuts in neo chrome as the goon that sprayed the wheels also did the nuts!!
Then it's debate time on the wing indicators , do I go fly eye or lamin ex smoke on them

Moving on........................ thanks for the comment much appreciated Well as these things do I hit a snag today , found out that the two locking wheel bolts the car came with are different and that the front and rear wheels have different locking bolts! Hit a snag in getting the drivers wheel off in that the licking nut on the car is mullerd so I'm going to have to source a new set of wheel nuts before I can remove that wheel

I do love an RX8. A good friend if mine had one and it cemented my love for them.
I would however probably never buy one, the rate at which engines seem to fail puts me right off.

Well I thought today would be a good day to get rid of those white/cream wheels Removed passenger side front to discover this So that's a new one if those light levelling brackets I need. Came to the the drivers side and the locking bolt won't grip the nut! Whilst putting the passenger side back on this happend Yep that's the male bits off the locking key! Time to sort out a couple of 22mm sockets and a big hammer along with done new tuner bolts in neo chrome!! Wheels look much better Not the best finish but better looking than they were Pity the drivers side isn't so good That's a white wheel at the front and silver at the rear Center caps looked a bit bland in silver so they went from To this Mazda badge picked out in Peugeot 406 cosmos grey

Make sure the car has a good compression. Test, only use decent plugs , leads and coil packs A bit of premix helps things

Not done much more to this really other than enjoy driving it, you do really have to work it to get the best from it .
Fast from the line it isn't unless you give it loads of revs, but once above 2.5-3k it starts to pull much stronger
Have had it all cleaned up along the sills and waxolyded
And I didn't like the chrome badges so they have been reprinted in graphite grey.
Next up is to Tint the reAr lights and indicators

Is that the high-power six port engine? Like you said, premix with 2T oil goes a long way to keeping the engines sweet. Mazda as much as admitted they made a boo-boo by re-designing the OMP injection system of the R3 RX-8. They pretty much made the Renesis engine to bluff its way through emissions above all other considerations, and forgot to legislate for the average cretinous car owner who doesn't even know the oil needs checking, let alone understand the voodoo magic engine! Great car when owned by someone who knows what they're doing
They can look really cool, just moving the numberplate out of the air intake like you've already done makes a massive difference

Yes I think it looks so much better with the plate low down and offset
Another job I want to sort over the winter is putting some mesh in the oil cooler and radiator holes to protect them a little bit
Already have a custom braided clutch line to fit and also working on developing a set of braided brake lines and oil cooler lined for it .

Well car is now off the road as the rear stationery bearing collapsed taking out the e shaft and junking the engine I have a replacement engibe waiting to go in once the weather picks up and I'm feeling better ! But for now here is a little update I've done As you will see from the pics the indicators stand out like a sore thumb and don't look nice Standard lens Upper has had one coat of smoking paint Lower is factory standard Upper has had two coats And lower has had one top has had three coats and is how I will be leaving them Think they will look much better I have also got my hands on a set of Lockwood mesh grills which will also get painted before they are fitted, going the same grey as the badges and wheel centers
