I am getting bored of my celica again. I want something rear wheel drive. I'll only have a budget of £1000. Something late 80s to early 90s.
I've been thinking about Mazda MX5s and E30/E36 BMWs.
Anyone else got any good suggestions for my era and budget?

There are other options other than what you mentioned , say a cortina , capri , sierra .I would go for the mx5 though , cheap reliable , cheap parts , not huge rust monsters . Fun as well !!

I think about the only thing I would avoid is a Ford. Purely because I have had quite a few cortina, capri, mk2 escort. Even though I enjoyed them I fancy something different.

If your on a budget german stuff might be bit risky if very old like the 924 .

How about a fiat x19, Lada Riva or a Chevette?

Or, thanks to the earlier more basic rear suspension, for something a little more tail-happy..   Neater E30 style dash, too. |

We already have a compact e36, well it's my lasses, nice motor but slow, it's a 1.6
