So I'm sure many of you will know about "Prept" - the German car meeting held monthly at Brands Hatch. Well yesterday saw a deviation on the theme called "Frept" - ie. French vs. German. It was no surprise to see only a few French cars, but it was nice to see a little more diversity than usual.
Sorry about all the moderns in here, but they were well turned out and there was enough classy retro stuff to balance it out nicely. I should probably also apologise for the standard of my pictures, I'm no photographer - but hopefully some of you will have your own pics to add?
I don't always go along to this, butwhen I do yesterday was the last day of April and the day the tax ran out on my car. Well since I've decided to SORN it I figured I'd drag the ever-tolerant Missus along for a final hurrah until I can afford to tax, MOT and insure it again in a year or so. Also this should allow me to focus more attention on my Alfa which has been getting neglected recently due to a company car coming along.
Got there nice and early and got a good space. Actually took a few pics of my own car since it was clean and since I won't be using it for a while.
Lots of great stuff was pouring in through the gates.
There wasn't a huge amount of French stuff, but some of my favourite cars there were just that.
This Twingo looked completely standard, but on closer inspection had a f***ing great intercooler poking out from behind the bumper. I love driving these - but don't tell anyone...
Everyone was walking right past this Xantia, I really liked it.
But err yeah don't tell anyone.
This Porsche was really doing it for me.
Nice Beetle too - something I don't often say.
Much to the chagrin of many on here - more "moderns"
But there was a spattering of obscure old tat too! Since you've made it this far through the thread, your reward is this Renault Estafette!
I spoke to the owner for a few minutes, a really sound bloke.
Hidden around the corner I spotted this:
Presumably the owner was too ashamed of the arch gap to park with the cool kids.
It was getting dark and quite windy, at this point my other half retired to the car for some food. She loves it when I take her picture.*
It was starting to get dark so I grabbed a few more pics before we left.
People were still pouring in and on the way out I saw three or four entire car parks completely full of cars that I didn't make it to. Absolutely rammed - there was a queue to get in when we were leaving - in the dark.
Anyway, thanks for reading this far and feel free to add your pics if you have any. I know there are loads on Facebook and the like so I'll link the best albums in here when I see them.
The Prept group is here
and here are a few albums I've found so far (I'll add more as and when):
