Paint applied... although it looks very much the same as the stonechip... in person it is more blue and the lights don't help it, more tomorrow. I have a small toy car which has also had some colour applied, I will try and get a pic of that in natural light for colour

Walk into the garage today and the colour has come through nicely finish is good too... But on the boot which I sprayed today... Orange peel It isn't horrendus, but certainly frustrating... back again tomorrow for some more prep!

Looks like you're doing a lovely job of saving this little car All of the hard work is gonna be worth it once you get it out on the road. That drivers floor looked a right mess! I imagine it's going to feel a lot more solid when you get out there. I could really feel the difference in shell stiffness after I'd done similar work to my Lancia. As others have said, love the blue Shame about the orange peel, looks like it'll probably wet sand/polish out though?

Hopefully The plan was to buy and use as it was... but I couldnt, and the whole interior and any other bolt on or bolt in parts just felt like they need tightening up, my old mini drove like it was on rails, this did feel somewhat more flexible! Fingers crossed on the wet and dry, i will leave it a while to dry properly then have a go I enjoy doing the work myself and usually saves some money, its never meant to be concourse so I'm sure I can sort it one way or another Wet and dry next week I think!

to be honest i painted bits of my land rover with mini glosser roller and synth coach enamel. even that flatted out and polished bright and smooth. as long as there is enough paint material on there its doable

Decided to paint the main body of the car today, results are pretty good, with a nice even coating all over, I did have a few runs in places and a reaction along a couple of edges (to be sorted of course) but generally pleased with it. Wet and dry used on the boot really helped, with another coat today it is pretty close now, just a couple of bits I want to get spot on and the boot is almost complete

I bought an FMT3006 with 1.4mm tip, it works well, but I don't currently own an inline regulator and this doesnt have a built in pressure adjuster... so adjustment was done from the compressor.
i have got a suction fed gun which was used for my last car and must say that the previous paint seem to go on a little better, a bit more playing and should have the hang of this one

Well another small coat and the paint is done for now, door shuts, engine bay and interior have all been coated and well. The rest isn't perfect but I am going to revisit it one its together, working panel by panel during the summer months which should give a much better finish. It will be on the move later this week to my garage and should gain momentum!
