Hi I have just purchased a 1990 Toyota Celica Gti 16v. Due to the nature of my work, this year I am doing the banger run, supporting the help for hero's charity. The charity is very much something I love to support but I had to purchase a car for less than £250. I succeeded and took delivery of my Celica last week. I look forward to saving this Celica from the scrap yard and driving it through Europe, in the way it was designed for. I will keep you posted with progress, and more importantly the colour scheme that is on the way. Here are some photos of how its stands now. Ben " alt=" "] " alt=" "] " alt=" "]

Car passed it's MOT today. Had to change the centre box, and thanks to a local garage who have kindly helped supported me.

The previous owner was packing up driving, and had offers to break for parts. So I think I've done a good thing and got it back on the road, all for a good cause.

That is jolly good for under £250. Photos may be being kind but even the tyres look okay!

Tyres were good enough to get through the MOT. But I would like to change them before the trip. Only issue is finding some. Very unusual size.

Previous owner added these discs all round. Only 100 miles old. Re painted the wiper arm as they were rusty and added some new wipers. Still got the original tool kit and jack. Inside the bag of goodies is are a Toyota spanner set. Nice.

Does anyone know of a tyre company in/near Bristol that can supply these 205/60/14 at a good rate?
Seems to be that only Nexen/Falken manufacturer these tyres now. Are they any good?

I've used camskill many times for MR2 part, great company!
As for tyres, again I've used Nexen and Falkens 912's, 512's and 452's on my MR2's excellent tyres, in the dry and wet. Good life, excellent grip never had any dodgy moments with them.

Good Evening All, I have now completed my help for heros banger run 2014. At present between the 25 teams that took part, we have raised just shy of £35,000. Here are a few snaps of the Celica on route
