	I've a Rover 800 Vitesse sat languishing unloved on my drive with a good engine, gearbox and a nice Recaro interior. It has a T-Series engine, which is basically a turbcharged M-Series, which I'm led to believe is a worked over, 16v O-Series, which I think is the son of the B-Series... Please fill in any inaccuracies! The car is worth sod all, unfortunately. I did a bit of man-maths at work and decided I'm pretty much as well off saving the good bits and scrapping the shell as I am trying to sell it. So... what to do with a (near as) 200bhp engine and FWD LSD 'box? The first thing that came into mind wasn't FWD in the slightest, an SD1 2000. Non-V8 SD1s are ridiculously cheap, sub 1k with MOT! They came with an O-Series tied to an LT77, easy swap right? Obviously if we're thinking 'Rover 2000', the P6 comes to mind first. Was this some kind of O-Series too? I know there's a chap on here who has put a turbocharged M16 in one, so I guess a T16 will fit? Looks super-retro-awesome too. A little more up to date now, I have a soft spot for 400 tourers. This really should be a 'straight swap'. Total sleeper? Montego Countryman? Now the link gets a little tedious... B-Series? Any other ideas? What engine came in a Marina?

	An LT77 with a bellhousing from either an O-Series SD1 or MPI Disco should get the engine pointing the right way

	There's an old Sherpa down my local scrappy with an O series in it, don't know what the gearbox is though, probably an LT77

	I've got a spare bellhousing, flywheel and starter from a Perkins Prima that would fit a T16, only issue is it's from the diesel so doesn't have the reluctor ring in the flywheel. I might even still have the rwd O-series engine mount brackets and rubbers somewhere

	The tourer would be my choice. Simple swap, in fact I believe the loom is identical. Mate of mine had one for cross channel ferry runs before the days of speed cameras and it was rapid. Pretty reliable too.

	Tourers are "easy-ish" if you start with a 420 otherwise you need to source subframe a etc. even with a 420nasp you'll then have to find 220/420t bits like the rad/intercooler/fans&frame. Not a massively hard job as it's been done a million times.

	Maestro van, I've always wanted a beige Maestro van that has the 1300 badge on the back and breathing a bit of fire on the T16 engine and go out having some fun.
	Some days you just need to take a grinder to an inanimate object, just to make your day a tiny bit better!!
